Baseball Books?

I got about $100 in Amazon gift cards for Christmas and am looking to spend some of it on some baseball books for my Kindle. Anyone have any good ones? Only one I've ever had (and still have) is The Science of Hitting by Ted Williams so any that you know would be great. I think I'm definitely going to get The Yankee Years by Joe Torre and Tom Verducci as well as Moneyball. Any recommendations would be awesome.

I just finished "The 2%", it's about the Rays and how their new management turned the franchise around.

Re: Baseball Books?

If you like oral histories and are a fan of the Mets this is a good book granted, it's an older book and about the '69 Mets but it's a fantastic read:

Moneyball is a must, its simply amazing. And not just for the baseball side of it. Michael Lewis is brilliant.

Baseball Between the Numbers is excellent, really opened my eyes. Extra Innings was ok, just not as groundbreaking.

Only the Ball was White is an excellent history of the negro leagues.

Bill James Baseball Abstract is great and something you read bits at a time in no particular order.

Re: Baseball Books?

R.A. Dickey's book was really good. So was Josh Hamilton's.

Re: Baseball Books?

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cooperstown. It was written by a former Red Sox player though, so maybe not a good choice for a Yankees fan (he did spend one year in pinstripes though).
