Universe freezing help

Ok, so I've read general stuff about the bug that causes the game to freeze when using a custom arena with a custom logo. I spent 4+ hours setting up my Attitude Era Universe with caws, custom arenas, and custom logos for PPV's and WCW Thunder. Over a span of about 2 weeks, I went through a month (universe time) playing just my ECW matches (Wednesday night show & 2nd or 3rd PPV of the month). I maybe had 1-2 freezes the entire time. I switched over to WCW for the next month and get a freeze every single time I play. At first, I hadn't heard about the bug so, once I learned about this, I changed all of my custom arenas and custom show logos to standard ones (although this completely ruins the immersion). That helped for one show but then it started back up the next time I played. It's gotten to a point that I just play matches until it happens (usually by the 3rd match or so) and then re-boot and sim the rest of the card. Can anyone answer one (or more) of these questions for me? I'm getting to the point of just shelving the game...

1) What is meant by "custom arena and custom logo"? I thought it meant the arena was custom and the show logo was custom but I'm starting to think I was wrong since I have changed all of those to defaults/included ones and still get it. Also, does "custom" mean just the user-created ones? Or do the included "custom" ones cause this too?
2) Is there a workaround for this that will allow me to keep using custom arenas? I can live without the custom show logos but WCW events just don't feel the same with a WWF set.
3) Has THQ announced a patch for this? I'm willing to wait if I have to but otherwise, this might get dumped.

I can not, but I hope someone has some insight. I hadnt experianced any freezing until lately...same with me, spent almost 8 hours setting every little last detail up to my liking and now Im getting it once or twice a card! I am not usuing any custom arenas however so I dont know if thats your issue. I thought maybe it was in matches with just CAW's but it started happening with guys who came in the game as well. Hoping they(THQ)are aware and working on something, because its getting pretty frustrating.

I was using custom arenas quite a bit but then read about the bug and switched those out for included ones. Like you, I thought it might have been just CAW vs. CAW matches but had it freeze in a triple threat match with 2 included guys and a CAW. I'm really hoping this gets fixed ASAP because I was REALLY excited about my universe and now am so frustrated by it that I don't even want to put the game in.

Yeah it WAS just post match for me....but it literally just happen in the MIDDLE of a match. Its insane...Does anyone know if THQ is aware of this huge glitch and/or doing anything to address it?

i havent had any freezing in my universe and im almost to yr 4 im up to hell in cell in my 3rd yr and nothing. are u simming matches or playing all them? because only matches i play are ryback's and punk's rest i sim threw and like meantioned not 1 freeze.

Me personally I play every match of every card

I played every match on the ECW cards during the first month and simmed the rest. This month, I'm attempting to play every match on the WCW cards while simming the rest. The freeze always happens to me immediately after the pin/submission and before the replays start.

That's how it was for me, too! Had already removed custom arenas/logo, which halted the pre-match freezing, but the post-match freeze was hitting hard and often. And usually on my first or second match, thus rendering the game pretty much unplayble. Out of desperation, a couple weeks ago, I went through every match type and got rid of post-match replays and I've only had one post-match freeze since. No idea if this is a valid workaround, but it seems to be working so far.
