Anyone else getting bored of playing online? Here are some pick me ups!

If you're like me, you might be getting bored beating down on bad kids every game, or you might be getting bored of playing versus the same old teams over and over again (Heat, Clippers, Knicks, etc). Or maybe you're just flat out bored, I can't help you there, but I can help you in the other situations!

Play as a horrible team versus a stud team
This is a challenge no matter how good you are as long as the other player is average. Playing as the Heat online is total cheese, so to counter him being so bad, try and play with a team like the Bobcats or Magic. This challenge has been effective for me to get competitive games, and I actually lose sometimes.

Simply play as a different team than you normally do
That's right! Contrary to belief, there are other teams. Even if you end up playing an opponent that uses the same old team, you can use a different one. Just simply doing this gives you a brand new experience. I use the Celtics about half the time but other than that I'll just hit the randomize button and use whatever team comes up.

Play as the Thunder and take every single shot with Durant
I love this. Why? Well, because some people I play seriously do it, running around with Carmelo all day, taking 75% of their shots with him, just running around the three point line until they get open since defense can only do so much. So, just do it with Durant. He's arguably the best player in this game because of his ability to hit the outside shot. I have only last one game with this technique and I think that's pretty telling to how broken this game is and how bad some players are.

If you're dominating the opponent, start trying to score with your worst player every single possession
When I am playing the Celtics and am up by 15 points I'll bring Jason Collins into the game, post him up, and try to score every point with him. Sometimes I even bring the ball up the court with him. Before the roster updates I used to do with Fab Melo. So do this with whatever team you're using if you've got a big lead. This is assuming you don't like to...

Show no mercy
Make them quit. Nothing better than getting a lead of 25 to 30.

Use the games as practice
A lot of people online seem to have no idea how to play in the post. So, practice it! Practice what you aren't good at it. Practice man to man defense, don't play off ball all game! Practice zones. Practice plays. Find out what works for you. Try to go an entire game with no turnovers. Be extra smart with the passes you make any any decisions you make. All of these things will improve your game and can be challenging since, after all, you are practicing versus an opponent that is actually trying hard.

I got one, try to score atleast 6 with every player on your team. Or win by only taking 3's. Just some fun ones I like to do when I mess around. Or also for 1 quarter you can only throw oops.

I like 6 points with every player. That is one I forgot, I sometimes make sure to score at least one point with every player. At least 6 is a better idea.

Just beat some hoodrat kid 60-57 using only Durant. 25/43 with Durant, 4/13 from three. But get this...he took 32 shots with Carmelo and went 10/32. Kid was awful. Yet the game was fun. If I had passed to open players or taken advantage of fastbreak opportunities he probably would have quit and I would have been bored.

This is why I think a custom mode like MyTeam is the future of this game....if it's built on and fixed.

It brings a custom experience to the game online and also adds a "replay-ability" factor that just isn't there with Quick Ranked Matches with the 30 NBA teams.

Especially since the Online Association experience can often be a pain in the butt and a time-suck.


However, I still prefer to keep it pretty SIM.

The best one is rolling up a big game with a scrub player, if they get hot. When the game first came out, I had a 28-point 11-rebound game with Darko Milicic!

This is the whole thing with this "U Mad Bro" Generation where apparently you guys think it's cool to spend all your time just making the lives of other people worse.

Whether it's online playing video games or in the real world just walking around trying to get under people's skin.

I don't get it...and I never will.

There used to be these things people had called MANNERS and RESPECT...but not anymore.

I've got plenty of manners and respect. It's just a game. Why should manners and respect really matter? It's for fun. He had fun talking trash, so did I. We enjoyed our time together. I enjoyed it more because I gave him the beatdown. It's one thing on the street if I approached him and acted like a total idiot. But this is a game. Who cares?!
