Winner of NC game not number 1

Had an odd thing just happen in my Dynasty Texas and Georgia faced each other in the National Championship game. Texas wins the game 42-28 and ends the season undefeated while Georgia has one loss. However Georgia was number one in both polls at the end of the season despite losing the NC game. Curious if anyone else has seen anything like this.

Re: Winner of NC game not number 1

Not yet but I have had a couple of 2 loss teams play for title over about 3 other 1 loss teams.

Re: Winner of NC game not number 1

It's a glitch that's been in there since at least NCAA '11.

Occasionally after the bowls, the rankings are not redone. So despite #1 Georgia losing to #2 Texas, they stay #1. Sometimes the other teams get re-ranked (like say #3 Florida lost, while Georgia might stay #1, Florida might go to #7, or they might stay #3).

I have never seen a team beat the team right above them, and if the rankings reset (week to week), the team not leap up above. I once, just to see how jacked up it was, made every team except one lose lots of games. I had #1 Alabama at 12-0, and #2 was Arkansas at 8-4. Alabama lost the SEC title game, Arkansas leapt up to #1 despite being 8-4, having lost to Alabama, and lost to an FCS. That's how jacked the rankings can be.
