Wallet Help

I've been having a problem of bend/breaking cards in my wallet for two years now. I've always carried a leather wallet and decided to switch to a new wallet. I ordered a Flipside 2X wallet and it will be coming soon.

My real question is all my cards are just nasty and crappy so what could I clean them with that would damage or break them. Any help can be used.

FYI: If your having a problem of bending cards then turn them around backwards in your wallet. The numbers go towards the cash and it seems to help out quite a bit.

Re: Wallet Help

I'd think a lightly damp rag would clean them off pretty well.

Side note, but I've always had a problem of having a lot of cards and it ends up making the wallet fall apart pretty quick (for leather wallets).

I got a Coach wallet on sale (but still more than I'd normally spend on a wallet) but that thing is built to last. I'm not noticing any wear whatsoever...it's crazy.

I want to see how this thing ages more than 6 months, but I'm seriously impressed and will always avoid the cheapo wallets I'd gotten in the past.

Re: Wallet Help

I have had two coach wallets. I'm currently carrying one and turned all my cards backwards and it seems to take not such a great toll on tearing up cards.

I've had this coach wallet for two years and the other one for three years and they held up like a safe

Re: Wallet Help

I've found that only carrying my "must-have" cards in my wallet helps. The rest I have in my desk drawer at home and only take them with me if I need them. Also, a lot of the store rewards cards and some store-specific credit cards don't even require you to have them at the point of purchase. They will look up your account using your SSN or phone number.

Regarding wallet wear. I've had a relatively cheap leather one I got at Kohl's about 3-4 years ago, and it shows no signs of failing any time soon.

My fiancee had to talk me into it, thought it was a waste, but I'm impressed...I put my wallets through so much abuse and it's taking it.

Re: Wallet Help

I have given up trying to save my cards in my wallet. No matter what I do they get wrecked. Now I just replace them once a year with a fresh one.

Re: Wallet Help

I would always clean mine with alcohol and a paper towel.

It would normally get rid of all that black gunk surrounding the card. But like all of you guys, after a few weeks, the gunk is back..

I have noticed that if you put your cards in the sleeve's and not the actual pockets that the cards are for, there is a little bit less gunk.
