Recreating the hulkmania era (88-92)

I think one of the best era's in wrestling was what I'm calling the hulkmania era from 1988-1992. It was alot diffrent back then with a lot of managers, heels you really hated, big tag division, and comic book type characters. That's an amazing list. I'm going to have to bookmark this thread for reference when I get the game.

Running a Sunday Superstars show once a week, with a limited number of PPVs would be fun.

Re: Recreating the hulkmania era (88-92)

I grew up in the Hulkamania era and it truly was a great time. I went to see Wrestlemania 2, 3, & 4 on closed ciruit tv at my local arena. The British Bulldogs vs Valentine & Beefcake fued was great. They battled for months leading to the Bulldogs winning the titles at WM2. Always remember when The Honkeytonk Man upset Ricky Steamboat for the IC title on tv as well. I have never seen another wrestler as big as Hogan was at the time the arenas would go bonkers. The thing with Hogan is he was bigger than wrestling. To me this era was my favorite as I grew up with it and to me was the best collection of wrestlers at one time in one league I've seen.

88-92 and no Rockers? They were tag team of the year in 89!

I was looking for Michaels and Jannety specifically. Guess that was the problem.

Re: Recreating the hulkmania era (88-92)

My timeframe might be slightly off, but I believe Harlem Heat was the Steiner Bros biggest opponents during that time frame. Booker did well in WWF/WWE when he went there but I will always remember him as a Tag Team guy with Harlem Heat and not King Booker.

Splitting hairs, but I would move Arn Anderson up into the midcard, simply for the 4H impact he had.
