All Star Contests: How does a player qualify?

Does anyone know how NBA 2k13 determines what players take part in the Dunk and 3 point contest? I started up a Clippers association and simmed to All Star weekend. Blake Griffin, Jeremy Evans, Travis Leslie and another guy (I forget who) where in the dunk contest. Blake Griffin I can see as it's pretty much is #1 offensive tool, but Travis Leslie and Jeremy Evans? I know Travis is in my reserves and I'm sure Evans is in the Jazzs reserves so what criteria does 2k use to get guys in the contests? I might run another test and see how the 3pt contestants shapes up.

I know ,but if he didn't get any minutes in the game how did 2k say "Oh this guy is a dunker" and puts him in the contest. I would think it would be based off how many in game dunks a player has or their frequency of dunks.

The dunk contest selection goes off their dunk rating. If he has a high dunk rating, he can be chosen.

The thing that bothers me is, why would Griffin be in it? How often do players make repeat appearances in the dunk contest? I guess there's too many factors that we cant expect 2K to get everything right. All the more reason to skip the dunk contest, 'sif I needed any more.

Didn't Nate Robinson repeat it? Didn't DeMar Derozan repeat it?
