When progressing players, for IF linemen, what is exactly impact blocking. Also for the Defense players, what's the difference between awareness and play recognition.

This is what I have heard so I have no code or links to back this up.

Impact Block - ability for a player to locate the player he is going to block

Awareness on defense - Only used in simulated games but for some reason is still a big part in calculating overall rating

Play Recognition - How well the player reacts to the play or doesn't bite on play action or draws.

Awareness on defense is not only used in simulated games. It's used for any player that you are not controlling. It's their ability to react to their surroundings.
Dropped fumbles, tipped passes, etc a player with high awareness will react to things like this.
Heard it in a podcast with 1 of the devs but can't find the link now.
