What is the "real" difficulty of the game?

If the lowest difficulty is for beginners and the highest is for those looking for more competition, what is the normal difficulty in which no value is altered and for which 2k13 was written?

It has to be Pro or All Star

Pro difficulty, simulation sliders = no cheating from the computer at all.
That is where the game was meant to be played.

Pro feels too easy against the CPU though. I can hit a 3 pointer on accident.

Playing on coaches mode seems to produce some interesting results. When I play on Pro with the Dream team 12 min Quarters the Dream Team wins 130-80 against the Bobcats but on HOF the Dream Team will lose 90% of the time sometimes by 20.

Seems like the CPU boost is very drastic and extremely unrealistic on HOF.

Even in All-Star the computer cheats.
Pro simulation is a great set, and you can always tweak the sliders to make the game more difficult.
Too many 3s? Adjust the sliders.

My 3 success slider is at about 44 and my close/inside is at 33
