The sneaky player thread

I've been playing a bit of MLO as well as multiple exhibition games, looking for good quality players with lower ratings. Guys who seem to play better on the pitch than what their ratings seem.

Starting out in MLO its all about buying cheap, but capable players, so I thought a thread where everyone can share the dirt on good players would be worth its weight in gold.

We're a small little community in here at Operation Sports PES, so any help we can be, we should.

Steven Naismith, (rated) 69 - Everton, SS/WF/CMF. He is a deadset gun. Scored 14 goals with him in 20 MLO games. He plays every midfield & forward position, has a good shot, pace, 1st touch and stamina. I think I paid about £780 000 for him.

El Shaarawy, 73 - AC Milan, LWF/SS. He plays all forward and AMF positions. Surprisingly strong on the ball and has a nifty array of tricks and skill moves. Great coming in from wide positions and for his ability on the ball at 3 million he's a bargain.

Gaston Ramirez, 74 - Southampton, AMF/SS. I bought him for £2 mil and he is solid. Excellent first touch and good passing. I play him as an AMF and his early crosses, through balls and passing in the front third has laid on a fair few goals for me. Considering you don't get many great passers for under £7 mil he's a bargain.

Varane, 71 - Real Madrid, CB. A really solid CB. Good in the air and seems way faster on the pitch than his 74 Top Speed rating suggests. He anchors my back four (or my back three, depending on formation). Always seems to be in the right place at the right time. I think he cost about £2.1

Mark Wilson, 74 - Stoke City, CDM. If you play any kind of formation in need of a tall strong CDM, Wilson is your guy. He's like an extra CB down back, but he gets forward, he's wins all my 50/50 balls in the midfield in the air or on the ground. Playing with him, you'd swear he was rated 84, not 74. He costs a little over £1 mil, and with 84 for stamina he's a 90 minute player.

And two GK's

Butland 74 - England
Gabriel 75 - AC Milan

My mate has played 75 odd MLO games, and he reckons Butland is a gun and hasn't made a mistake in all those games. He's a 700 rated team with 50 wins, so it's hard to argue with his record.

I use Gabriel, a tall & athletic 20 year old keeper from AC Milan. I've played around 8 games with Gabriel in net, and he's kept 4 clean sheets and only allowed more than 2 goals once.

IMO, you can find cheaper players to play forward, while you build your defense and central midfield early on in MLO ... Spend your first lot of money on a CB or two and a goalie, then build out is the way to go.

Hey great post fluffy... btw what assisted settings do you use when playing MLO?

I'm been using 2 bar passing manual shoot off lately........

this is probably where my mistake was.... I have yet to buy a CB. I use the defaults lol

here is some of my players.. I will post a pic of my formation and starting 11 later or in another thread

another Keeper I find that is good

Rogan rated 72... his goalkeeping rating is at 80 which is what i looked for when buying my first keeper.. my first match after buying him he made a great save right off the bat and I smiled saying what a buy. lol but I might upgrade to butland because I think he is really good in real life as well even know his goalkeeping is a 76 but his responsiveness is a 84 and balance is high which looks 2 rating to look for as well in keepers... both Gabriel and Butland have higher rating in those categories than my keeper...

my current best players in my squad other than Rogan and some of the defaults are

Sterling 76 I keep him usually on Leftwing.. fast and good dribbling and can get past players and scores some good goals for me

Rocchi 72 Rocchi can play anywhere in the top 3 up front in a 4 -3 -3 which i play and has great shot power and accuracy that's why i bought him

Joe Allen 73 he is boss in the midfield..

Mayuka 73 this is a player I bought after seeing someone using him against me in coach mode.. when I play coach mode i scout players while I watch the match if I'm around the TV... sometimes I will just play it and leave the room. but this guy is very good scorer and can be played on the wing or in the middle.. he just impresses me with his strength, dribbling, speed and goal scoring ability

Robinho 67 this is another guy I seen someone in coach mode using against me as a Defensive mid and he looked unbelievable to where I thought it was the good Robinho at first.. but no.. this Robinho can play almost anywhere.. SS, AMF. LMF, RMF, CMF, DMF another good buy

Verratti 73 - a very good defensive mid who has great passing

De marcos 67 can play SS, AMF, LMF, RMF, CMF, RB and LB... I have been playing him at RB or LB

btw.. I stole Verratti and De Marcos from this post on budget buys

http://www.cheatmasters.com/blog/201...players-guide/

here is more info on them

Quote:
De Marcos
De Marcos is a Spanish footballer capable of playing almost anywhere in the Middle Field position. However, his actual position is as Second Striker. While not posting ********* stats in any particular area, he does have decent levels all around, and he also has very high stamina and teamwork skills, making him capable of scoring goals when you least expect it. He also has solid skills, capable of helping out the team whenever he can when the opportunity arises. De Marcos costs just 1,104,061 to acquire.

Verratti
Verratti from Italy has a pretty steep market value of 1,388,183, but having him on your team is definitely a steal. Possessing good stats all around, the defensive midfielder excels in dribbling and passing, and can be trusted to handle the ball. If you have the budget to spare, then definitely count Verratti among the shortlist of players to purchase.

Re: The sneaky player thread

I have bought so many great cheap players over the last week, it's unbelievable. Almost all of them were under a million. Spelling on some of them might be off, writing it off top of my head.

Pedro Santos
Xu debeo
Isla Mohammad-Iraq
Chiquinho-I use him as a right back and he is solid.
Ulstad
Gallo
Joa coabera(sp)
Takagi
Will post more when I get on the game. Best way to build a team is to buy a solid striker and go from there, use the advanced search feature, it's the best way to find cheap great players.

Re: The sneaky player thread

Yeah Steveee, I play on 2-bar passing assist too. I was struggling on manual passing, I'd pass to my player and he'd watch it sail right past him toward my other player, but the other team would always cut it off, while my original guy I wanted to get the ball just stood there.

That's funny about Rogan, that was my keeper before I bought Gabriel ... I spent about 40 minutes looking at all these keeper stats and attributes before I signed Rogan too!

I've my eye on Sterling too. I've been using El Shaarawy on my left wing, and I can't fault him. He's not as fast or as good on the ball as Sterling, but I've scored that many timely goals with El Shaar, I just can't bring myself to upgrade him, and my team isn't big enough to have 70+ rated players on my bench.

lol, not yet anyway.

Re: The sneaky player thread

Rogan's contract ran out last night so I replaced him with BUtland... I will do the same when Butland's contract expires and replace him with Gabriel.

I need to do a better job of managing the contracts because I'm out of money and my squad is very thin with no depth at the moment because of this

but yeah the reason I asked what you play on in MLO is because it's almost impossible to play 0 bar when your playing that mode because no one else is and I'm already at a disadvantage because most teams are better than mine and the people I'm playing against seem better the majority of the time and you have to pass so quick trying to hold possession. I don't think I suck that bad either.. but it seems in PES online there is a lot of good players to me or that they are use to the online more than myself. to me.. offline play doesn't really prepare you that well for the online play. online play you have to be a lot quicker and be a lot more strategic against people. I try to slow the game down the best I can but sometimes I still have trouble doing it against faster all out pressing players... any ways 2 bar seems about right for me when I play this mode.
