How to win Heisman with a QB?

This has probably been discussed before, but what does it take to at least get your QB in the Heisman race?

I just finished the 2012 season with Arkansas. We went 13-0, won the SEC, and Tyler Wilson wasn't on the Heisman Watch list once all season long.

He passed for 4,280 yards, 45 TD, 9 INT, and completed 68% of his passes. I've simmed through seasons in other dynasties and it was always five HBs on the Heisman Watch list at the end of the season. This time Collin Klein did break through and is probably going to win it, but it's because he rushed for 1,000 yards and 16 TD to go with his 2,000 passing yards and 20 TD. So is the only way to win it with a QB is to rush for a lot of yards and TD?

Yea its messed up i had everett golson of ND, passed for 4300 yds 48 TDs, ran for around 1300 yds with 12 TDs, and the HB at BYU won it when i was in the number 1 spot from week 7 to the end of the season. The HB had decent numbers but he only had like 20 total TDs? Also he wasn't even statistically the best HB that year.

The logic is bad and I've noticed that ridiculous numbers seem to hurt your chances. You'd think that a game that's all about past Heisman winners would get this right.

Re: How to win Heisman with a QB?

I've had trouble getting my QB in the Heisman race too. In an online dynasty i was using Boise State and the QB was putting up great games every game and wasn't in the Heisman race. But my RB who wasn't even the main focus of my offense (since i was pass first kind of offense) was LEADING the Heisman race. His numbers were good (around 100 yds per game 1-2 td's a game) but my quarterbacks numbers were much more impressive and i couldn't even crack the top 5 Heisman race with him.

Not sure about this year's game, but in NCAA 12 I had a RB that I used in goal line situations and he ended up with a bunch of TDs after a few games and ended up in the Heisman race. YPC or total yards weren't that spectacular either.

That sounds almost identical to my situation. Knile Davis (my RB) was averaging 110-120 yards per game and a TD or two, but Wilson was putting up sick numbers. Like I said, he finished the season with 4,280 yards, 45 TD, 9 INT 69% comp and, at no point in the season, was he even in the top 5 of the Heisman race.

My RB was in the #1 spot from like week 3 through my second to last game of the season where he got hurt. He didn't play against LSU, still #1; simmed through week 14 where basically it's a bunch of Big 12 teams playing their last games and everyone else is done, and he fell completely out of the top 5. So I didn't have any Heisman finalists...or so I thought. Played and won the SEC Championship Game, and Wilson had another good game. He went from not even being in the top 5 going into conference championship weekend, to finishing third in the voting.

Just thought it was weird how the last couple weeks played out.

For as long as I can remember there's been a "bug" (I consider it a bug) where injured guys won't win the Heisman. That's what happened to your HB.
