How to become the coach after being OC?

I was wandering what it takes to become the head coach of the same team you are a coordinator for. I'm the OC with FSU, won the Nat. Title the first year, sim'd year 2 went 7-6, 11-3 3rd year, and then 10-4 year 4. My job security is at 100%, Fisher got fired, but yet, FSU didn't even consider me for the HC job. This is only the second time I've gotten this far in a dynasty as a coordinator, and same thing happened last time, no consideration from the school. Do they not find someone from within or what. I would like to not leave, got some good recruits, but I don't want to be stuck as the OC, simulating games, hoping to lose for the HC to get fired so I could take over.

The coaching carousel logic needs alot of work. I think it's more about luck than doing any certain thing as a OC/DC. The only way I've gotten the OU HC job was to take a HC job somewhere else and then a few years later i got the offer from them, but again it felt like pure luck to me.
