Where are the deflections?

Where did the deflections go with this tuner? Just wondering if anyone out there is getting any deflection goals, and if so how? just wrist it at the net?

Come to think of it, I have not seen any over the past 5-6 games I've played against the cpu..... Anyone else?

I haven't seen any at all on my side. Not one goal or even a deflection at all. I'm pretty sure 98% of my goals have all been top corner snipes. The other 2% are random goals crashing the net/rebounds and the all of 2, yes 2 back door goals. It just hasn't been fun so far in the goal variety. It just seems that too often I'm scoring upper corners. IMO this all has to do with the goalie reactions. The side to side movements are at warp speed so it's very hard to score back door, and the goalies are just too slow on top corner shots so it's almost the only way to score. It probably wouldn't be so evident if tips, back door plays, and other goals had the ability of going in though. It just seems to me like the game is on repeat.

Overall I just think the goalies are a complete mess. I've been very critical of the goaltending in this game and this is actually the worst it has ever been in the series, besides 07. The goaltending is just extremely flawed and it's the one area where if it can be revamped (movement, reflexes, everything) this game will be right up there in the running of Sports Game of the year. It's the one big area of hockey that EA hasn't come close to getting right since the switch to ps3 and 360. The good thing is that I think people around here are finally starting to realize what some of us have been saying is wrong with the goaltending for quite a while. Maybe this will help in convincing EA to do something about this aspect of the game. After all it is the most important position in all of sports.

I have both scored and been scored on with deflections. Also seen many deflections just go wide.

CPU deflections are silly and used to be UNREAL! Most goals scored on me are from point with a CPU player making some crazy body and stick contortion and tipping a 110mph slap shot in.

My guys never tip it seems. I did see kopitar bunt in a deflection from 10 feet away which was great, game winner for me!

I think a large part of this issue is that your teammate AI doesn't bother to screen the goalie. I'll have my line set to "Crash the Net," but as soon as I have the puck tee'd up for a shot from the point, there's no traffic in front. The goalie has a clear sight line almost every time.

unless custom plays stick this year, i guess that's the only way we'll see some sick tips. I'll keep trying, sad thing is on launch I was seeing far more goal variety....
