Re: Speed???

Is your speed threshold slider at zero? If not, that might be the problem.

Re: Speed???

I think running like a lineman is probably a bit of a stretch lol. I'm not sure I agree with not having a 0 threshold being a problem, but I'm not trying to start that argument. When I see players like Dat Thomas it is very clear that he is a super fast player, but just because he is faster than almost every guy on the field in every game he plays in does not mean he is gonna run passed everyone at will. If that were the case why try and tackle him at all?

Go to youtube and check his highlights. There are plenty of times where I have seen him running along the sideline and I say to myself "surely he's gonna score". Then all of a sudden a cornerback pushes him out of bounds, or tackles him. Why? Because that cornerback is an FBS athlete as well. He has been coached about how to take advantage of and utilize the best pursuit angles possible to the ball carrier, which brings me to my point.

I think we expect super fast guys to run by defenders at will and we really don't take enough consideration and thought into pursuit angles, momentum of the ball carrier and the pursuing defenders, and the play recognition ability of the defenders. That is why I don't like low thresholds because they hinder pursuit angles. There is an unrealistic disparity between the slowest and fastest IMO. Dat Thomas does not score every time he runs up the sideline and neither should a 99 speed 99 acceleration WR, CB, or HB.

I remember Nigel Bradham (MLB) chasing down Jeff Demps (all world sprinter). Angles, momentum, stamina, etc. all play a huge role.

My only question to the OP is this: do you mean he's slow & should be blowing by people, or do you mean he physically runs like a lineman? Like, kind of squated & sort of chugs along, but still fast like his 99 speed & 99 acc would suggest? If it's the latter, maybe he was originally a lineman but roster edits have made him into a WR. Just a theory.

I had a 90 something speed DE get an INT one time & he ran like a super fast Vince Wilfork lol.

This right here. Notice how towards the end of the game you will see guys in the formation window as light green instead of dark green. They are fatigued and you can also see a slight difference in their speed in the fourth quarter.

Another reason guys aren't seeing a lot of big plays is because WR by default don't hold their blocks long enough down field. Insane pursuit rating given to most DL and LBs is also a contributing factor. Sliders and player edits fixed the problem for me.

My WR isn't running like a lineman style wise, but its frustrating that he is slower than my 92 SPd receivers when obviously he should be faster... I appreciate the help guys
