PS3 or 360 ... any difference?

I'm likely going to take advantage of the Toys R Us deal that starts Sunday where you can buy any 2 EA Sports games for $70. NHL 13 is one of the games I will be getting, but am unsure if I want the 360 or PS3 version.

I've played the NHL series solely on the 360, mostly because I thought the 360 controller was better suited for the game (I feel the same way about NBA 2K).

Are there any real differences between the PS3 and 360 versions of this game? Graphics? Framerate? Freezes? Roster sharing?

Thanks, guys.

They are very similar. NHL and Tiger Woods area always very similar visually on both systems. Madden and NCAA are not as close.

You won't go wrong with either platform.

In terms of glitches and freezes, EA seems to have fixed most of that this year. Only thing on PS3 is that siming days in Be A GM mode is brutally slow. Takes a good chunk of time just to get past one day sometimes. Not sure if it's just on the PS3 or everyone is experiencing the same problem.

Imo...the sim times on the 360 are about the same this year as last year.

By what a few other members have said, it at least seems like the PS3 for whatever reason has the longer sim times.

The Ps3 version also has longer loading times to get through the main screens/connecting to EA servers compared to 360.

The graphics and gameplay are about the game on both, and that just comes down to controller preference.

I tried the demo on both. They were identical to me visually even though the xbox version is displayed in 1080p. I went with which controller I preferred which ended up being the 360's.

PS3 controllers SUCK. I bought it for the PS3 this year so play with a friend from work and the controller is just too small for my hands.

Nope. It was upscaled from 720 to 1080 (by your TV or 360).
So naturally it wont look any better, it's the same source = 720.

But to OP, if you don't have friends to play online with or anything else that might make you biased to one of the consoles, I'd say go with 360.
The PS3 simming is slower than ever, and apparently load times too.

Simming one day in season can take 20-40 seconds. Simming a week makes you go for a bathroom break or a quick sandwich.
Not game breaking, but since you asked.
