Minor League Hockey

Well without an NHL as of now I figured we might as well talk about the local AHL/ECHL or any other level of minor hockey.

The Las Vegas Wranglers have their first pre-season game thursday night. Being a season ticket holder I have free tickets so I'll most likely be at the game. The tickets are reasonably priced and the hockey isn't terrible. The crowd in Vegas, although small, tends to really get into the games.

Well where I am located in Nova Scotia Canada this is what I have around me.

My local team is actually Jr A and is the Pictou County Weeks Crushers of the Maritime Hockey League(MHL). Its great hockey for 16-20. Google the MHL and itll come up.

Also have the QMJHL with the closest team being the Halifax Mooseheads, but within a few hours of about a handful of teams. The QMJHL is part of the CHL which is considered minor pro hockey. Take one shift in either preseason or regular game on any team in the CHL and lose your NCAA chances.

Yeah I was thinking after I posted this I probably should have included major junior hockey as well.

I think its a given though as Major Junior is technically still Minor Hockey in a certain way. I mean they are all aged 16-20

Here in Colorado the Eagles (ECHL) just got to the ECHL after being in the CHL for 7 years or so. So i haven't watched them much but with the lockout coming ill prolly dig in

Picking up my season ticket package tonight at the Las Vegas Wranglers only home preseason game. I'll have to take a picture of where my seats are.

I'll be trying to watch some Rochester Americans hockey games. They're the Buffalo AHL affiliate. I wonder if I can find ways to watch them online.
