Question New vs. Old Isomotion

Question for all of you. Is there an added advantage to the new iso controls? Seems like it's more a matter of preference between this year's and last year's.

I'm glad the other setup is an option b/c it just seems more cumbersome to me to have to press a trigger to shoot. Shooting a layup now requires two trigger presses and two thumbsticks at the same time (for a dunk). Complex!

So wanted to get ppl's opinions as to whether they've found other advantages to using the new setup. I guess one is easier dribble moves, but seems like you should still be able to do all the same moves in the previous setup, it just requires a little more agility in the left thumb. Kind of like a fighting game with quick half circles and whatnot.

just seems more intuitive to have movement on the left and shooting on the right but maybe that's just me.

tl;dr. Which do you prefer 2k12 or 2k13 isomotion and why?

Re: New vs. Old Isomotion

I didn't play 2K12 for long so I don't even remember by now how it worked there, but I do like 2K13's controls already, even just from the demo and without even being that good at it.

I used to love the old Isomotion (pre-2K12), never had a problem with it. But the new system just feels great to me. But it's also because it's one of the smoother/more responsive (for the most part) NBA 2K's I've played since 2K8.

It just feels good and natural for me. That's all I can say.

Re: New vs. Old Isomotion

I was comfortable and learned last years isomotion very quick.

I wouldn't say I mastered the 2k13 dribble moves on the demo yet, but I memorized them and have been pulling off a large variety moves.
This years dribble moves gives you alot more variety of moves and really isn't that hard to pick up.

Still in adjusting period, Got some crossovers down but I still need refining, although the new dribble system is much better.

I've played the demo so much that I'm comfortable with the new control change, I just need to put 2k cam on and I'm set.

Control stick is easy if you don't treat it like a arcade fighter. Spamming the stick left to right will get you nowhere.

Take your time and be patience. Personally I can get anywhere I want with new controls.

Didn't really like 2k12 iso because of the bump defense.

Exactly, the game rewards you for taking your time and reading the defense.
