Offensive approach needs changing?
The more and more I play NHL 13, the less I think of it. In NHL 12 I felt that most games were different, even if just by a little bit. So far in NHL 13 I don't feel that this is the case.
My offence is really struggling. Every goal that I see scored either by me or by the A.I. is one of two things. Either a what the hell was that goal, or a snipe into the upper corner of the net. I cannot score low, get deflections or any type of garbage goals. I can barely get the cpu goalie to give up any type of rebounds and even when they do, my player gets checked to the ice immediately. The CPU however gets all sorts of nice juicy rebounds and my effort to check them is met with my user controlled player just looking like an idiot. My grinders don't grind, and my bangers don't bang. When I get into the offensive zone on the half boards or behind the net, my AI players just stand there right next to the CPU's players and look at me. If the puck ever happens to remotely get near them they are immediately taken to the ice. I can't get them to screen to goalie to save my life. Don't even get me started on my lack of offense on power play. Not only do penalties get called, but the ones that do get called are atrocious. High sticking with no stick contact with any player, goalie interference that doesn't touch the goalies, interference penalties from shoving a stationary player, it's horrible. No matter what strategy I use, I cannot get my AI players to do anything productive. I'm at a loss as what to do to get my team scoring. What am I doing wrong and why are my AI players so stupid? In NHL 12 if I was down at least I could dial up my offence to at least get good chances. Help!
