This is why having one person in charge of ratings is inexcusable. Unless your watching every play of every game you can't accurately assess players. NFL teams have full time employes to do this, on a one week / one team basis.

Your telling me somebody is able to do this for every team week in and out.

This isn't fantasy football, where players rating and values fluctuate week to week, Kevin Ogletree anyone?

If the baseline attributes are so accurate, there would be no need for these large scale changes.

If there is a need to increase off player performance then link static attribute increases to the league leaders in specific stats. For example separate the DB, LB and S and the leaders in tackling, INT, PD, FF would all get targeted increased in those areas. Go off a body of work, not a good game.

Amendola getting a 4 overall increase shows the problem with only having one opinion. I get it, the guy caught 12 passes in a half. I also know he fumbled prior to that and caught 3 in the 2nd half. The next week he was back to 5. Wanna increase composure, CIT or Route Running ... I'm on board. What exactally got increased to get his overall?

This is a guy who went undrafted, hit practice squads before starting on a injury depleted Rams team.

Now, after one decent half he is rated in the top 30% of the WR in the league.

LOL what ever dude?
Its a toy, I 'm a Rams fan. This is called having a little fun.
You try too hard to over-intellectualize a football video game on a disc.
Now,.. I am an adult and like playing other humans and am mature enough to where i prefer playing in a more simulation/realistic fashion.
But its still a toy company. And you guys need to grow up and realize that.

this game is made so young little Timmy can live his dreams throwing bombs to Megatron. But there is enough logic in the game to where if 2 guys want to play sim against each other, they can. There will never be a sim game, only sim players of a football video game. And its time all you kids finally grew up and realized that.

Its all in fun Moody, thats all its ever been for. Dont try to over think it.

dont get me wrong Moody. I'm not trying to insult you. I played 2k5 and agree it appeared to be an over all better game. But 5 years is an eternity
in the spoiled childish computer era and its time has passed till another company comes along

in the mean time Madden 12-13 have given me enough of a decent football experience as long as I dont play dishonest and moronic people 11 to 35 years old online.

.. I mean heck i already beat a kid using the Steelers on line with the Rams before this update , so i'm a little stoked about this ! LOL

have a nice day Mr Moody

Re: Rams fans celebrate ! intersecting the Madden world with the real world

I get your point, I really do.

The problem I have is if EA marketed this as a toy, I would have sat down and shut up years ago.

Right now there is a plethora of marketing that doesn't cater to the thoughts Madden is sold as a "toy". Realistic, authentic, replicates....all used in EA marketing for this game.

Apart from, that if the core we are talking about a toy designed for children, why does EA go tothe level of detail it does.

Your telling me to not over-intellectualize the game, but I all I am doing is trying to access what is in the game.

The bottom line is simple, your paying money for a product, in turn they are paying a person to adjust the ratings. So I don't think it's too much to ask if we have fair and balanced assememts of them.

I'm with Ryan on this one...
Just cause the Rams barely beat the Skins they deserve to get an overhaul?
I don't think so, if they change anything for the Rams, they should make sure the refs call them for taking cheap shots.
I used to love the Rams, but since my man Faulk retired, & the best show on turf ceased to exist I've moved on.

Congrats on getting your team players updated, but I don't think they deserve it.

video games arent reality. They didnt need to deserve anything LOL.
Congrats on getting my team players updated ? sorry i'm not one of those types of childish myopic fans. I understand sports is nothing more than entertainment and doesnt change my life.
Its about having sports video game fun, nothing more.

perhaps you don't treat football video games seriously, and play them to have 'fun'. But like me and alot of other people on this forum, we want a football game that replicates real life. And a company that backs it realistically and with logic. Danny Amendola jumping 4 points in a week sums up EA sports approach to their product.
