Gimp Tutorial

Can someone post some instructions or link me to where I can create my logos using Gimp? 90% of the logos I make turn out with white specs all around them and it looks tacky? I usually use the fuzzy select tool and delete the white background but even then it still looks bootleg.

Thanks

Re: Gimp Tutorial

Logo's should be vector, so Inkscape. GIMP is for photo editing and manipulation. Do not use GIMP to design logos.

I'm a pretty new graphic designer too, and started out using GIMP, and my ability to create about doubles once I switched to Inkscape primarily.

GIMP is very powerful and does a ton of other stuff in addition to drawing (photo editing, basic animation, etc) .

I use a XP-Pen Star G640 Graphic Tablet with it , It's a great tablet. For slider adjustments, spot, brush edits it's pretty good.

Yeah, you need to save it with transparency (.png). Photoshop and Paintshop are great. A free online software to use is photopea
