Simple question - please help

Is there really no way for two people playing on the same PS3, sitting in the same room, to start a franchise/season/whatever they want to call it? Is it impossible to have 2 user controlled teams in any of these modes? I would even be able to live with having 1 user controlled team, and just playing every game for a non user controlled team, although i cant find a way to do that either. This is beyond ridiculous.

If you're both on the same PS3, start a private online CC, create a new user profile for your friend, and have him join the league. You won't be able to play games against each other, but if it's just the two of you that is only 3 games a season at most.
