Madden A.I. system is broken, "video proof"

After playing the game for about a week, I have noticed some things just seem to be repetitive. It seems Madden has a new dev team, but they use the exact same tricks to old team did. Check out this video. Proof that the game is still scripted and that line play is in need of a SERIOUS OVERHAUL if they want to make a realistic football experience. I NEVER see this on sunday EA. Your motto is false advertising.

That was a good video and is why I felt earlier in the year that the June 4th reveal would be a new AI system. That said, we can only hope they are following a FIFA like process and the AI overhaul, some kind of version of "Vision" is in store for M14.

I am not excusing the fact the AI was not addressed, just want to mention they never said it was. It's disappointing to see that stuff on run plays though, considering the run block logic was addressed back in M11. There is some good stuff in M13 but as the video clearly demonstrates, there is still a ways to go.

1) You're playing without sliders.

2) You're showing video of the practice, not the actual games.

I've in Week 7 of my CCM and I don't have many problems with the gameplay. It's not perfect but neither is the actual real sport.

Thought this was another ignorant AI rant about Madden when the problem is playing on All-Madden, not the game itself.


But yes, the AI isn't perfect in Madden. No video game has perfect AI.

Does the TE react the sameway when you pick a run package defense? In the play its a 2 wr set with 2 TE and a RB. Most people would pick a 4-3 or 3-4 to counter it. A Nickle pacakge was selected. Does the same thing happen with a 4-3 or 3-4? I'm just curious.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion and I know I shouldn't be but I am surprised at some of these responses. The guy shows a video of the TE allowing the DE to get in the backfield untouched every time, the DE often being oblivious to the runner and wanting that fixed is expecting perfection? WTF?

That should be addressed, especially considering he showed older videos where he has been saying this same stuff for years. It's not like he demonstrated some complex blitz where the AI could easily be confused because "it's just a game" but instead blockers being locked into defenders that are completely out of the play and defenders being clueless about the ball carrier. The latter is likely put in because of the former to prevent the ball carrier from being tackled in the backfield every time. If they could fix the blocking logic in a patch where blockers choose the nearest defender and defenders had better awareness, the game would still not be anywhere near perfect.
