CCM player progression and CPU XP spending (Online)

So I've just finished my 1st season as Bills, and after the draft, it seems that CPU rosters are almost untouched when it comes to player progression. As a matter of fact, couple comparisons I've made via Play Now (which has the original stats) and online CCM after year 1, it seems that NO ONE has increased in stats besides my own team.

I am really hoping that this is just a flaw, a bug on my end, but something tells me it's not. I am not sure if I am not looking at it right, but if I am correct, this is a major flaw on EA's part, and needs to fixed ASAP, because otherwise, playing CCM (online or offline) is worthless.

Has anyone else noticed this? Please tell me that I am wrong on this.

i can say there has been change like 60 ovr's going to 70's and rookies getting better across the board , so i dont thinks its a problem

I am progressing AWR before most anything else unless they are showing marked performance in significant places.

This way if they are playing they are growing in OVR due to AWR rather than just speed or other position appropriate stats.

IE - Trent Richardson had four straight games with over 100 yards and one game where he had over 200 in that span. I chose to increase his AWR by 10 points (from 60 to 70 I believe) then I used the remaining XP to level up his Juke and Stiff Arm by one point.

So far I am loving this mode and look forward to the improvements and fixes in a patch.

I don't have any trouble getting my own players to gain xp and increase their overalls. My issue is with the CPU. A good example is Jets. Tebow, after one full season, still has the same overall stats (I'm playing Bills, Fitzpatrick has raised his overall to 87). He did not play the full season, but some. The thing is, when you do practice as a coach (and play it), depending on which practice you choose, even your bench players/rookies gain XP, which overall should net a decent amount of XP at the end of the season, assuming they have not played any games. Team goals, for each individual player also applies to everyone. For example, if your LG's goal, as a pass blocker, is to gain 4000 passing yards, when the team accomplishes it, he does get the overall XP boost at the end of the season. Therefore, even if your backup LG sat all season long, he will gain the team goal XP when it is accomplished towards the end of season. Hence the system gives enough xp to get your bench/rookies improved, technically speaking.

However, while this is the case if you're coaching a team, the CPU controlled teams DOES NOT SPEND the earned XP (assuming they do earn it), hence can't or won't progress their players.

Rodgers has thrown over 4000 yards last season, and played all games in my CCM for packers. The beginning of the new season, not even ONE of his stats have improved. Now I understand that his play style may not fit mine, henceforth the overall score of his may not reflect his full potential compared to my team as Bills. The issue is, non of skills have a point increase, nor decrease. I've made this comparison by playing a game between bills/packers in play now as packers, went into depth chart to check his original skills points and compared to it to my current Bills franchise, which is a year in.

To test this I did the same with Colts, and Andrew Luck is sitting on the points/overall, even thou he was the starting QB for the colts in my franchise for the past season.

This makes everything obsolete for the game, as well as for the CPU. Whats the point of playing the game, when your team is the only one progressing throughout your coaching carrier?

Is this happening for your team only, or does it include the CPU teams as well?

I saw a suggestion elsewhere to set Progression frequency to 4 weeks or yearly. You'll still be able to progress whenever you like, but the computer won't do it in blocks of 3,500 points as soon as they get them. It'll give them flexibility to spend on major improvements, if the logic drives them to do so.

That *might* help with the issue you're seeing.

Still, I'd imagine teams even dropping individual improvements on a weekly basis would add up by the end of the year. Not sure.

If EA "forgot" to add CPU player progression, I think it's safe to say they just don't care what kind of finished product they put out.

That is just rediculous.

Alright, it appears that I was wrong. I have tested it with Andrew Luck. Overall he had some improvements for playing the whole season. Specifically his THP/SAC and MAC was improved about 2-3 points each. However, because he does not fit my Scheme as a player, his overall is still the same as it was from the get go.

Therefore, progression does exist. He is a balanced QB, meaning certain stats are more important to him.
However, the progression is rather very slow, which makes sense, as he is already a top class player, and therefore for him to be even becoming better would take quite some time.

Meanwhile I think I have figured it out how the development trait works. Will be posting another topic about my findings.
