Signature Skillz!? New Ratings And Tendencies Right?

Now I think I got it. There are new tendencies and ratings that they have added and the signature skillz are just used to emphasize the tendencies and ratings that players have. I might be wrong but it just makes more sense to me now especially sense they are trying to make the game appeal to everyone even if they dont know the players and the teams. If this is the case then......

Dead Eyes: Means the shots in traffic will be making a comeback.
Brick Wall: Means they have added a hard pick tendency.
Chase Down Block: Might just be a combination of the speed rating and the block rating.

Which would simply mean you cant assign a player any skills it would have to be adjusted through changing the tendencies and ratings like before. It makes more sense, It doesnt make any sense for you to be able to pick what sig skills you get in my player mode as oppose to just developing them based on what part of your game you improve and them coming to you automatically by what tendencies and ratings you improve.

Just an educated guess nothing has been confirmed.

Closer: Raises his game in clutch situations. Looks like a rating but not a tendency

Chase Down Specialist: ability to get chase down blocks. Looks like a tendency but why would they make a tendency that little to no one does.

Now if they are not a tendency or a rating then how will they conflict with the tendencies and ratings? They must be alluding to new tendencies......I hope they bring some clarification to this subject tomorrow.
Not sure he knows what he's talking about, but Ronnie 2k said the Space Creator sig skill gives the player a higher percent chance of making a shot if he is able to create space from his defender.

It's actually the one I am the most confused about, as I would think that a player's rating (close/mid/3pt) should be how well they shoot when wide open and then the defender's rating should adjust the probabilities as the defender gets closer.

Interested to read the blog tomorrow to see if it explains this sig better.

Re: Signature Skillz!? Ratings Or Tendencies?

I'm not 100 percent sure about this, and I haven't read/seen all the things 2k put out about the sig skills, but I THINK they don't effect the ratings/tendencies of the player, but differentiate them. For example, the chase down block one, Ibaka will probably have one of the highest Block ratings in-game, but LeBron will most likely have the chase down block signature skill, because he is known to chase down the fastbreaker and block his shot. I THINK it will give SLIGHT advantages at certain points or on certain plays for users AND CPU during a game. Like I said, I could be 110 percent wrong, but this is what I THINK.

Re: Signature Skillz!? Ratings Or Tendencies?

I'm sure that signature skills are use the differentiate players who would have similar ratings in the past. Lets take dunk rating for example. Two players can have a 99 dunk rating, but that does not mean that they would dunk in the same situation, or even do a certain type of dunk. Lets look at two of the premier dunking bigs in the league:

Blake Griffin:
- 90+ dunk rating
- 90+ dunk tendency
- Signature skills related to dunking are: highlight reel, posterizer, alley ooper(?)

Dwight Howard
- 90+ dunk rating
- 90+ dunk tendency
- (Likely) Signature skills related to dunking are: posterizer, alley ooper (?)

So both of them are good at catching alleys and posterizing defenders. But Blake is more likely to do flashy dunk (windmill, 360, etc) on a open break situation that Dwight. I know we have dunk packages, but we could never choose what dunks they want to do in certain situations.

Re: Signature Skillz!? Ratings Or Tendencies?

I was thinking that there were actually icons you pick for a player for them to play like they do in real life like thinking that It would make kobe by having shot creator use more sig jumpers but I looked at the break down and it was the total opposite so and I started thinking that shot creator may be a skill that kobe has because he has a great ability to even perform pullups, fadeaways, etc.

For ex. There may be a playmaker tendency or rating that drose is scales high in that gives him the floor general skill just so you will know what he does, and if you try to emulate that then the more successful you will be.

The flashy pass tendency+plus the accuracy ratings gives Chris Paul the Dimer skill. U Feels Me Now!

Again I'm not a czar nothing has been confirmed.

Re: Signature Skillz!? Ratings Or Tendencies?

Isn't one of them is "clutch" or something ?

so that already gives it away that they're rating related and not tendencies. Unless making shots in the clutch is now a tendency lol, in which the game would effectively be broken.

Thats why I was mentioning new tendencies and ratings It makes more sense. There may be a Contact dunk rating or flashy dunk tendency. Like I mentioned about the Dead-eye skill maybe alluding to the shots in traffic maybe making a comeback and KD may just have a high shots in traffic rating giving him the Dead eye Skill.

Its like this, I'm thinking there is a new flashy dunk tendency that Blake is rated high in giving him the highlight reel skill in which dwight is rated lower in not giving this skill to him, but by boosting his flashy dunk tendency or rating it would highlight this skill for him but not by simply choosing it just b/c he has a 90+ DUNK rating. Dwight doesnt do flashy dunks like blake does so if a new comer to the game doesnt know this then just by looking at the skills now they know and they could have adjusted it to where if you do anything out of these players character then you wont be successful to much.
