Gulfcoast Madden Players {Hurricane Isaac}

I just want to let the Madden players on OS from the Gulfcoast know that I'm praying for you guys during Hurricane Isaac. I'm from New Orleans and went through Katrina, so I know how crazy this whole thing is. Stay positive through this storm and get back to enjoying Madden in the comfort of your homes soon.

Re: Gulfcoast Madden Players {Hurricane Isaac}

Thanks for the support. This thing sucks. Isaac just screwed my entire week up. I'm currently in Houma, directly where the storm is just sitting, not moving at all. Just heard on the radio that it could be here till Friday, and about a week of no lights in some areas around LA. As far as the actual weather here, it doesn't suck that bad, because I'm not in a flood zone, but the wind is beastly ripping off pieces of peoples roofs and things like that. Good thing my car battery is new so I can sit in here and charge my phone and listen to the.news.

As far as Madden goes, I was excited about it. Looked at my work schedule and I was set, get off early Tuesday, off weds. Preordered Madden, paid it out completely, and was ready to scoop it up after work. Instead, stores closed for the next couple days due to isaac just hanging out in my neighborhood like the guy who just got outta jail and ain't got nothing else to do but bug people, no madden, no lights, no time for the lights to come back on.

Dang man, that sucks. My thoughts are with ya'll and I hope you don't have too much of a mess to clean up when it's all said and done and that you guys get power back as quick as possible afterward.

Wish we could do more to help... good luck to all down there, including yourself RH3.

Man I hope it doesnt last til Friday. Thats gonna really test the levees. I was just down there this weekend. I helped my family evacuate then flew back home. Took 2 hrs to get to the airport, which is normally a 30 min ride. Im glad my families safe, but hope my mom has a house thats livable when she returns. I was gonna skip Madden, but i needed to do something to take my mind off of the storm. Stay safe and be careful out there.

Re: Gulfcoast Madden Players {Hurricane Isaac}

The levees are holding up great so far, except for certain areas like lafitte, which were mandatory evac places. Some places are flooded, and stuff but there are a ton of people driving around like its just another day. it seems like its coming to an end where I am, atleast I hope, but with it taking its time (going five miles per) it makes a category 1 storm seem much worse. Nobody thought it would be this bad so a lot of people didn't evacuate. Some subdivisions around LA are really flooded bad.

What really sucks is that the light companies can't get out in their bucket trucks until the wind is a standard of less than 35 miles per, but that's not happening because the light company sees stuff different. It might slow down for a while, thirty minutes, an hour, at a time, but since they know its going to start back up, they can't come out yet. Already tired of eating SPAM sandwiches and junk food and sleeping.
