TOO SIM???

I ask myself sometimes, am I "TOO SIM"? I hold 2k to a standard not seen anywhere else. Not saying noone else does. It's just I've been in so many leagues, ran a few and played millions of 2k gamers. I take my 2K'ing very serious, lol i call myself the Larry Brown of it. It's very hard for me to enjoy myself, ranked games are a catastrophe. Most leagues are advertised as sim, but guys will have one player averaging 30-40 ppg on 7-8 minutes per game. and there is good amount of senior owners that take advantage of exploits. But maybe it isn't them, maybe im just too dang sim!!!
Here's what I follow naturally in ranked, OA, Myplayer and even Offline verse:

• On Ball D, with man to man and zone (only 2-3)
• Only use turbo when, accelerating to the basket (after beating the defender), use to beat a press and on a fastbreak. An i dont usually use going towards basket because it draws extra contact.
• Lead passes only come accidental or in pick and roll
• Fastbreaking on turnovers, ball pushing when pressed
• And in OAs i never try to stack teams
• These are just a few...

this is the problem a lot of sim people have....they think too much about being sim.

just dont do cheesy ish, get all your teammates involved in the game and play the game. its not that complicated.

I was in a sim league where you would fit perfectly.

No more than 50% points in the paint, fastbreaks included.
Two players can't combine for more of 35 shots.
Don't force fastbreaks.
Max 20 attempts from 3 points land.
Don't abuse up & under.
On ball D at all time, you may run zone but you should run man to man most of the time.

There where some other rules but nothing fun breaking.

10 minutes quarter.

It's sim but not too sim. We're still there to have fun. Mostly we woudn't bother checking stats too much because there where only good people in that OA. Had some great time there, hope it returns with 2K13.

Well maybe i shouldve gave more detail. In associations i never have a top 5 leading scorer. Team averages tops in total assist, and my focus is on playing efficient defense. So it is that complicated, the game was for years considered "#1 Rated Basketball Simulation". An d to comment on the "dont do cheey ish", i think it preety much makes one sim if he doesn't do those things, right?

im trying to say it takes the fun out of the game if you have a set list of things you must do to be sim. you've seen real NBA games, you understand sim play. just play and dont think about it. you'll have more fun.

I like rules because some guys don't get it. If you are sim then you don't really have to stare at the rules because thats how you play.

Out of the rules Vni and RTD listed, I only have an issue with the 35 combined shots with two players since my offense looks to get my first scoring option 20 shots and the second at least 15 so I'll be always at that mark or close to it. I also don't like the no sprint button rule -- if someone is running an actual offense I wouldn't care. A rule I like is that the 'quick isolation' can only be ran on the last possession of a quarter.

Honestly rules where more for the newcommers. I would never check the stats as long as the game was legit, fun & sim.

First you gotta ask yourself what sim even means.

Nowhere did I see in the "book of sim" lol that man on-ball D = sim, etc.

Where should you look to see if something is sim? Easy...The real NBA, real basketball. Not that complicated. If more did that instead of looking to some made up "rules of sim" or some made up thing where "offline association = sim" and "online = cheese," they'd probably have more fun with the game.
