SECElit3's 2013 Madden NFL Sliders; Built for Realism and Challenge (All-Madden)

Hi guys,

I guess it's that time again. It seems to sneak up me every single year. It may have something to with getting older, but it seems like just yesterday, NCAAand Madden released their 12 cycle.

Yet,here we are for 13. In the coming days, I will begin the long, enduring process, in the labs, of designing what I hope to be, a balanced, challenging, game play experience for Madden 13.

I will be looking to refine line play to provide organic and dynamic interactions between the offensive blockers and defensive front.

I will be looking to provide a challenging, yet realistic feel to the running game. I want variety in running backs. Ratings should matter here.

Defensively,I will be looking for proper read and reaction from all positions. Defensive players should play according to their ratings. Defensive players should play their zones accordingly as well as man assignments. (This aspect of the game could not be fixed in NCAA with sliders, making my time with the game short lived.) Tackling should feel fluid and balanced.

These are only a few things I will be observing and analyzing throughout the durationof the testing process. There are many other aspects I will be looking at as well.

A Few Notes pertaining to my sets:

· CPU and User settings will be the same. I do not believe in giving an edge to either.

· Lastly, I will NOT sacrifice a realistic game play experience for challenge. Players will play according to their ratings. I base my testing on player ratings.

Every slider maker has his/her own ideas about how the game should play. I look forward to seeing all of the work produced by the great slider makers on this board. I appreciate the knowledge I gain from each and every thread.

I look forward to all of your observations and critique going forward. Enjoy the game!

Charter04,has released a great set, which definitely deserves a look:

OK, guys after a month filled with sleepless nights, hashing, rehashing, frustration, and shear disappointment, I am now ready to release my base slider set for Madden 13.

Let me just say this year has been a ride from start to finish. I set out as I do every year, to provide not only the community, but myself a equal based slider set, which not only provides a challenge, but a fun football game as well. What fun is a slider set that is too challenging? What fun is a slider set that provides no challenge? The answer is neither. That is why I set out to design some slider settings which not only provide a fair challenge, but more importantly a realistic game of football.

My slider sets have never been known to be overly challenging. This year will be no different. My objective is to provide a fun, realistic; ratings based set where neither the computer nor the user is given an advantage. I want the user to sit through four, 15 minute quarters, and after the game is over, say “man that was a lot of fun.

I enjoy my football games, as I know you do too. Last year, Madden was my savior,as it became my number one football game of all time. So as you can imagine, the bar was set for this year.

So with that being said, I hope this thread provides you, if not with sliders, but ideas which you can use to further your enjoyment out of this great football game.

I have to give special thanks to some great OSers that were a huge help in establishing this base, so a quick shout out to these guys “thanks for all ofyour help!

Keep in mind this is a base set, not meant to be overly challenging. My intentions for this set again, are to provide realistic, ratings based game play. As this is a base set, please feel free to modify the set to your style of game play.No slider set is universal for every player.

Thanks again guys! For those who chose to use this set, please provide feedback.

These sliders have been tested in online CCM and offer an excellent feel to Madden 13. Please see legend for color explanation

These sliders are currently in the process of heavy testing. Updates Likely!

These Updated Slider Settings are intended for use with my edited roster file. File is latest 11/2 update with lowered attributes for all players. The EA ratings are simply too high. I have found that lowering the attributes in conjunction with custom sliders produces the best results I've ever seen in a football game!

The file is available for download below

Re: SECElit3's 2013 Madden NFL Sliders; Built for Realism and Challenge

I tried these on 13..

San D never throw the ball in the 1st have 5 passes 14 min Q..

Now the game was played on very slow and will bump to slow.

I will now try on slow 12 min half

I did bump QB ACC down to 5 for both

Yes.. I was just using your 12 base on 13..

I will say slow is the right speed.. Game way faster than very slow, but gives the NFL feel..

Your 12 base is not a bad start. I don't see too much change

I agree with you whole heartily on the speed. I can't wait to get the game... I am actually pretty jealous of you at the moment.

You did some of my favorite slider sets with the NCAA series the past few years.. I really look forward to these.

Your 12 sliders are working real nice on 13. Definitely a good base for your sliders this year.
