Re: How to build a power running offense

First off you need a good Run Blocking RG, then you need to recruit a power back with good Acceleration. Then i would recruit an Accurate QB to manage the clock and i would run a Pro Style offense with quick short passes to manage the game.

Ark is right and even more look for the rest of your line to be run blocking and even a blocking TE. Just to add there is nothing like seeing a run blocking sceme executed to perfection like clock-work

Re: How to build a power running offense

I went with the Maryland I formation. Recruit a power RB who is a good run blocker. He'll be the middle back. Then recruit a good FB. He'll be at the top of the 3 backs. Then recruit a speedy halfback to be the ball carrier. Best way I've seen done.

Copy paste any top SEC team and you'll have your Woody Hayes offense

Well if you want to purely ground and pound then get some reliable possession catchers. Speedsters are useless in that type of offense. Manage the clock and run don their throat.
