Re: Week 2

I've taken holding down a few ticks. Let me know if this is still an issue for anyone.

Re: Week 2

FIU's defense shines, allowing only 10 total offensive yards as Akron gets pummeled 33-0. The Golden Panthers hope this is a sign of great things to come.

Re: Week 2

Cajun Cookin'

While the offense had no trouble moving the ball, it was the defense that stood out this week as ULL shutout Troy 24-0. Defensive back Sean Thomas was named player of the game and tied the NCAA record for sacks in a game with 6. Sophomore running back Alonzo Harris had 75 yds on the ground before going down in the 2nd half with a rib injury. He is expected back next week.

Re: Week 2

Army opened their season against San Diego St. The offense seems to be on the right track as qb Trent steelman breaks army's record for passing yards in a single game with 390. He also had 3 Td's but 2 interceptions. Army's play did seem careless a times, by having 2 rushing td's called back due to holding.

The defensive play for army was horrendous giving up 344 passing yards to former Oregon state qb Ryan Katz. The run game was also effective for San Diego St, dominating army's defense for 183 yards. The secondary had a few opportunities for interceptions but couldn't hang on to the ball.

Army lets the first game slip away losing 48-28. The black knights look to rebound against the 0-1 Washington state cougars next week

After a shutout win over a FCS cupcake in week 1, Western Kentucky went into Tuscaloosa with dreams of pulling off the upset over #9 Alabama. The key to this game was Alabama HB Eddie Lacy, plus a couple of deep Bama passes. Every time the Hilltoppers had Bama stopped on 3rd and long, Lacy would start breaking tackles. He had 20 carries for 92 yards and broke 9 tackles. WKU had a solid 1st half, going into the break down 17-12. QB Kawaun Jakes was 9/15 for 150 yards at the time... however, the Hilltoppers got desperate in the 2nd half and went to the pass too often. Jakes ended the day 15/33 for 299 yards and 1 crucial INT, and he also ran the ball 9 times for 31 yards and both of the Hilltoppers TD's. Across the sideline, Bama QB AJ McCarron went 13/23 for 287 yards, 1td and 2int's. In the end, Western Kentucky fell to Alabama, 24-18.

Re: Week 2

UMass picks up their first win as an FBS school with a 21-7 win over Washington State! Was a strange game, including a pick 6 on a last second heave to the endzone before halftime.
