Despite Industry Decline, NCAA Still Leads The Pack

I saw this article and thought it was interesting. The video game industry is declining as a whole. While we are seeing a decline in NCAA year-over-year as well, it's still ruled the video game industry in July.

Nice article to read. Its interesting to see that video games are declining but NCAA is still uptop on the list. Now it would be really shocking if they stayed on top for the month of August considering Madden 13 is coming out soon.

Very good news for sports gamers. Especially with NCAA getting the updated physics next year, there is a lot to look forward to out of EA in the next couple of years.

Great news considering there's been rumors EA could drop NCAA football. Love it or hate it I'm sure most people still at least want a college football fix each year!!

While there is nothing that we can do about it if that is what EA decides; that to me is just a cop out. Instead of fixing things that people complain about, they rather just scrap the game. If EA does not decide to do a game, does that effectively remove their exclusive contract for that sporting title?

I think this year is the last year they have the contract anyways and they said they won't be renewing it. With that being said though, from all that I've read if EA doesn't do a game, we simply won't have one. And I know some people here don't much care for a lot of things about the game but still play it and would not like to see us have ZERO option..

I myself love the game, although I agree it's not as advanced as it should be at this point.

ODogg

Do you have a link to that information? Also to add to this post if they decide to drop the game I would be sad for a short time, but at the end of the day I have other choices on what to do with my money and being I only buy 2-3 games a year now these days. I could spend that money on something else not related to gaming. As it stands now I have not picked up this years NCAA with is a firth for me since the original Xbox days.

That list is misleading -- if I have my gamer radar on correctly, half of those games are 'old' or not July releases. I want to see what games besides NCAA are July releases -- going to google -- I'll edit my post with the answer.

Edit: Only the Spider Man game (June 29) can really be considered a July released game. All the rest of them were released a month or two ago or last year. No real competition to really compare NCAA 13 to IMO. A more accurate list would be to compare NCAA 13 to games released this year numbers --NCAA barely outselling old games in its first month isn't a good look IMO.
