The Decision Era

Personally I enjoy the direction the NBA is going, with having a few super teams. But I also don't live in Minnesota or Detroit. I'm a Lakers fan.

I feel like its becoming more like baseball with the haves and have nots, which many years is the only thing that keeps me interested in baseball down the stretch.

I think the NBA will thrive financially with this, although we could see some NBA franchises go the rout of the NHL and pack up.

Neither do I, but I think it's a discussion that was done to death when the Heat were originally formed. With that said, the Lakers are in that mix now too so I'll leave this open for now. Lets see if there's a "good" discussion to be had now.

Re: The Decision Era

Personally i don't like it. I prefer the league with all the stars spread out with lebron in cleveland, melo in Denver, Dwight in Orlando etc. I'm not saying this as just a cavs fan (although my bias probably has something to do wth my opinion) I just prefered when there were more entertaining teams to watch. Now? I can already tell you the only 2 possible NBA finals matchup for next season: lakers vs heat or thunder vs heat and I hate that.

Re: The Decision Era

I like it, but I'm from Chicago...

Makes for more interesting matchups and better playoff ball IMO

I think it's more of the LeBron, Melo, Paul era

The newer stars like Rose, Griffin, Durant etc. don't strike me as being so worried about playing in a big market compared to the guys mentioned above

It's definitely harder for a small market to succeed nowadays. Need to be very smart with money spending, and have to strike gold in the draft (Spurs, Thunder...) as well as have good coaching
