I might like in, I'm just curious what you'd plan on doing to the conferences before I choose a team.

Well the plan right now is make the real-life conference changes next year, and then in the 3rd season and beyond, people can change conferences based on location and success. For example if you are getting your *** kicked in the Mountain West, you probably won't leave for the Pac-12. If it fits geographically though, and you are sustaining success in a lower conference, you can move up in the world. We may also vote at a later time to add/remove/change BCS tie-ins, but that will be a group decision.

can you define the teams that are available. Is it just number of stars or does conference affiliation matter also.

Any 1-star teams that have yet to be taken are up for grabs; conference affiliations don't matter. Only 2 have been claimed so far, so see the above posting to see which schools have not been taken.
