Why do people whine about Ratings if "Ratings don't matter?"

The only thing I continue to hear from the EA haters is "blah blah blah ratings don't matter A punter just ran for 600 yds blah blah" yet in the very next thread they are posting "ZOMG Eli Manning is a 97? What? No way he's better than T.J Yates omg."

My point is Madden looks very good this yearand I think we need to stop actively looking for things to bash EA/Madden for.

The Hipocricy is strong in this one

Foremost, your username is awesome.

Second, the ratings absolutely do matter.

Third, I can understand any fuss about ratings this on the grounds that a user-edited roster cannot be taken into Connected Careers mode, and there is no meaningful player editing within that mode either.

Ratings definitely make a difference. Individual skill ratings anyway. Crying this way or that about OVR's seems silly since it doesn't tell you an awful lot.

I think the term "rating do not matter" is very vague. While ratings DO matter, there are things that do not have any effect. You can have a guy with 98 block shedding and say 90 finesse, but never seem to get any pressure against a T that has say 80 blocking

Because Ratings should matter.

Ratings didn't seem matter on All-Madden. But the problem that still remains is that too many key attributes are not spread out enough from player to player in certain positions so stand outs don't actually stand out as much as they should.
