Fielding tips (assist/manual)

I lose a lot of runs on simple fielding errors - I often start running in the wrong direction (as I don't see which player is selected), I often miss the ball (and sometimes, miss that I have missed it, losing several seconds).

I also fail to remember that I can jump with the R1 button - as there is no practice mode for fielding, I can't get this one into my muscle memory.

Any fielding tips would be deeply appreciated. Also, do you use the jumping function much?

No. I play online, auto fielding is not an option.

Re: Fielding tips (assist/manual)

if assist is on, don't touch the left joystick until you know which fielder you're controlling, assist should get you moving in the correct direction
