RTTS Multiplayer Franchise (sign up)

I have come up with a way to play a pseudo multiplayer RTTS within franchise mode. The concept is a group of people (I would say 3-5 although more could work but would take a little more coordination) create their RTTS player for a franchise. The number of points eligible for their created player may be an average of the top 5 prospects for their position or could be a copied version of a RTTS generated player. The team you are assigned to could be based on the RTTS draft selection or your own choosing. From there, a franchise is started with all control handed over to the AI for your particular team. The only thing you do is use your player inside the game wherever he is sent. So if the AI stated my player stayed in AA as a SP, then I would only pitch my innings and the cpu would bat/field etc. All games I am not a part of are simmed. If I were a SS, I would simply play my AB's with everything else simmed. (I don't think you can play to field as just the SS). Once my game was played, the franchise file would be copied to a jump drive and emailed to the next player. Game is dloaded, played, and emailed to next guy and so on.

In the rare occurences where two RTTS players were involved in the same game, the home team gets the option to play with their guy first. If they are unavailable to do so, then the road player gets to play it. In the even more rare case where two players were on the same team, games could be alternated between the two.

If this all sounds a bit confusing, I have another more simplified version of the same thing.

What about a Five Aces Dynasty a la the Atlanta Braves of 1995? Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Avery, and Kent Mercker/Pete Smith were five of the best starting pitchers that year...maybe we could create our own players and each of us would be responsible for pitching our games. We could be in full control of the team and collaborate to find offensive players and bullpen help where needed. All fielding, batting (with the exception of your pitcher), baserunning would be AI controlled and any time your pitcher left the game, you were done....sim (or watch) to the end. The time commit for this is minimal as we are talking about pitching a game, saving the franchise, copying it to a jump drive, and emailing it to the next guy in the rotation. I think this could be a ton of fun with the right group...

We would use TNK's realism sliders for either one...

Thoughts? Takers?

I would definitely be down for doing the Five Aces version had somebody not cracked my disc.

If you don't fill up by the time I get a new one I'm in though. What would the point cap be for Five Aces?

Halladay has 515 pts. spread out over the 6 categories of STA, CLU, H/9, HR/9, K/9, and BB/9....we could go an even 500 and then have to work out individual pitch limits. Maybe allow 2 pitches to have 225 each, a third and fourth at 200, and a fifth at 190?? Just throwing some numbers out there with the pitches but would have to look at the big players to see. I think this could make for some good times as we could "tune in" to each game watching the PSN update. I would love to have some real "teammates" on a run at the WS. Each pitcher with their own strengths and weaknesses...I think this would be a blast.

It doesn't appear to have much interest though as I have posted in 2 forums and gotten 1 response and it was a maybe.

At Utopia...I got you down.

I'd like a couple more although I'm up for a dynamic duo if you are. I have been tinkering with the player creation as well. I think 500 points over the 6 categories is a good spot. The pitches can go 250, 240, 220, 220, and 190 if you want 5 pitches... 4 pitches would look like 250, 240, 240, 225. I pulled these numbers from some of the better pitchers in the game so we would be good but not ridiculously dominant. I know another guy who wants to do this as well but he insists on classic pitching. I'm fine with that but we will be pitching on legend difficulty if we do that.

The difficulty would follow TNK's Realism Sliders v. 2.0 w/ the following settings...

Pitching Diff: Legend
Interface: Classic
View: Broadcast
Marker: On
Callout: Full
Confidence: On
Pitch Delay: Up to you
API: On

Hitting Diff: Legend
Interface: Zone
Guess Pitch: Off
Baserunning: Auto

All Fielding is Auto as well...

What team would we use for this as well? I'd like to use one that could afford us...

Re: RTTS Multiplayer Franchise (sign up)

All of that is fine with me, I'm pretty passive in regards to details. I'm fine with adapting my game to what other people want. Team wise I'm pretty neutral too, the only two teams I don't particularly want would be the Red Sox and the Phillies, other than that it's up to the both of you. Do you already have your pitcher made? I was waiting to make mine so the stats can be balanced out.

Re: RTTS Multiplayer Franchise (sign up)

I got my pitcher created and sitting in FA right now...

He has 500 pts. spread out over STA, CLT, H/9, HR/9, K/9, and BB/9. He has 5 pitches with 250, 240, 220, 220, and 190 points on each. For the other attributes category, I have a total of 750 spread out over the entire area. This allows us the ability to create a great hitting pitcher but might detract from his fielding a little.

I just opened a franchise to see what my player would demand...almost 22 mil a year!! If we get our 3 guys on the same team, we will be playing moneyball with the rest of the team.

If you want to give me your guy's attribute set and all, you will be able to edit appearance and stances inside the franchise.

Also, I'm leaning toward the Braves with this thing...

Re: RTTS Multiplayer Franchise (sign up)

500 points over the following

STAMINA -
PITCHING CLUTCH -
HITS/9 -
HR/9 -
K/9 -
BB/9 -

You can choose 4 or 5 pitches. I assume you will go with 5...

Pitch 1 (250 points)
VEL -
CONTROL -
BRK -

Pitch 2 (240 points)
VEL -
CONTROL -
BRK -

Pitch 3 (220 points)
VEL -
CONTROL -
BRK -

Pitch 4 (220 points)
VEL -
CONTROL -
BRK -

Pitch 5 (190 points)
VEL -
CONTROL -
BRK -

750 points are allowed over the following

CON L -
CON R -
POW L -
POW R -
BUNT -
DRAG BUNT -
VISION -
DISCIPLINE -
CLUTCH -
DUR -
SPD -
ARM -
ACCURACY -
REACTION -
FLD -
BLOCK -
BR AB -
BR AGG -

My guy has 5 pitches. He is dominant with a 4 seam fastball and a nasty knuckleball. Also has a slider, a sinker, and a cir change. His 6 categories range from lower 80's to upper 80's. The best is my HR/9...I figure I don't want to give up the long ball often. I am lowest on STA but we will progress in game throughout the season. My guy can hit righties fairly well and is decent against LHP also. I am not the best of fielders. We are looking at tying up close 66 mil with our 3 pitchers.
