Looking for a team high in tradition who have fallen on hard times

I'm from the east coast and not the biggest college football fan. I follow but NFL is my thang. I lose interest as soon as Michigan loses. They're my squad but not interested in playing with them. Too easy. I enjoy building a program back up but I have a few criteria.
-Team has to have some tradition but not much recent success.
-I pretty much want a team that has their own intro of some sort
The last couple of years I've rolled with Army. Perfect for my criteria but I need a new challenge. Suggestions?

Sounds like Tennessee is the program you're looking for. (might be a homer pick lol)

For a non-homer pick, Minnesota has 6 national championships, but they haven't won one since 1960, and haven't won a Big Ten title since 1967. Plus, they have some nice new unis, and a beautiful new stadium to play in.

Those are both excellent choices.

Maybe Colorado? Not HIGH in tradition but have had some success in the past and a National Title. Cool intro with Ralphie

Hmmmm. Thanks fellas. Exactly what I'm looking for. I think I like Minnessota here. Plus I get to stay in the Big 10 which is the conference I follow the most being a Michigan fan. Not sold yet though. Gotta think it over. Got a couple of hours before I get home from work to make a choice. Thanks again.

Yeah but aren't they still a 5 star? That and being in Florida would probably be pretty easy.

As for a suggestion, how about Pitt? Put them in the ACC and get them back on the right track in a new conference.
