VHL? Any good?

I keep seeing guys with VHL records on their bios. This any fun? Competitive? We play lots of guys who have good VHL records on their bios but we spank them in club. I wasn't all that interested until a guy told me he got traded to another team... You guys are trading players? Now I'm interested. Anyway to start up a team easily? Not sure how the whole thing works.

Anywhere I can get more info?

It's alright, I've played a little less than half a season in the vhl and it seemed like OTP superstardom. I tried to dump and chase, cycle, work the puck to areas rather than to players and everyone called me a bad player. Wasn't my cup of tea. I'm in another 6 v 6 league that's a lot more team oriented and the guys overall seem a lot nice. I'm not going to mention the league here, but if you want to know pm me.

as far as leagues go, this is by far the biggest. They have enough players to have NHL, AHL and CHL leagues. Definitely worth trying out.... I have been there for a couple seasons and really enjoy playing there.

The VHL is basically a third party league created by users that uses lobbies to run 6 vs 6 games in an organized fashion. There's a website, teams, rosters, trades, etc... everything you'd expect to find in a real league. It's just all organized off site, since EA doesn't enable any in game league management.

It's just one of many leagues out there (the largest, but also arguably the least "team play" oriented). Honestly these 3rd party leagues are one of the only reasons I still play this game. Each league is different and has its own goals and reasons for being created (and in turn, attracts its own style of players), but when you find the right type of league, there's nothing else like it in online sports gaming imo... Playing club is fun, but the incentive to care just isn't there. The whole amateur, pro, and elite playoffs thing once a month is played out after so many years and really is outdated. These leagues fill the void and give people something to play for, the same as any other online league for other sports games (except this is for 6 vs 6 play, rather than regular versus).
