Is Play With Friends broken?

Honestly I've never used the mode before so maybe I'm just missing something obscured in the bizarre format 2K's used for this year's edition but we've been jumping in and out of each others' 2K Lockers for fifteen minutes trying to start a simple versus game before we finally gave up. Again, I've never tried to directly play a person before so maybe I missed something, but we jammed on our start buttons, pressed every other thing with an icon on it our controllers could handle and the only thing that did anything was either looking at our friends lists for further invites (irellevant since we're trying to play a VS game) or leaving the lobby and canceling all invites.


What the **** 2K?

One time right when I joined the room it said "Press (start symbol) to advance" in the bottom right corner but quickly disappeared once mine and his names loaded in the brackets on top, before we could even move to the VS option.

Buddy, you and I are in the same boat. I finally convinced my brother to buy a PS3 so we could play Online against each other and this same crap happened to me yesterday as well, step by step how you just described it. It was my first time trying to play a friend straight up and the same thing with the "start" or "advance" button happened to me where it dissapeared on me. Hopefully we'll get some guys up here explain or help us out...

Im having this save issue with 360, I have never had this issue and for the last 2 days I can't play any friends just quick matches

But I have other friends that play each other with no issues

Sometimes when you invite a friend to the locker room for a VS match the start button wont appear in the bottom right hand corner. You gotta back out and try again until it appears. You may even have to sign off xbox live and sign back on and send an invite again to get it to appear. It's a pain. Worst online game I've ever played.

I've tried all of that, the start button appears but when I hit start it says starting game and never starts

Oh I see, im not sure about that one. I can get the game to start when I play with a friend, now finishing a full game, that's a different story.

Weird I rarely have any issues besides this that just started. I normally only play friends
