Re: Madden 10 roster updates PS3
I considered moving on up to Madden 12, I did like some of the updates to the game system, but I got so used to playing Madden 10, and it saves me the money of buying a new game. Plus, I'm only overly concerned with making sure the Steelers are up to date, since I can't be bothered to control all 32 teams every season to make sure they don't change their rosters incorrectly. The main reason I opted to stick with Madden 10 is that it gives me a few years worth of franchise season to catch up to the real world. The game starts during the 2009 preseason, so with the final roster update I have a fairly accurate representation of the way rosters played out during that season... then I move on and draft new rookies and edit their names to match those players that joined the team in later season to replace roster spots as needed... gives m the 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons to play through while I wait on the 2012 rosters to finalize, with enough draft picks over those 3 offseasons to get rookies that offer reasonable facsimiles of the players on the current roster. If I start from Madden 12, then I only have 1 season (2011) to play through before I need to be up to date. Granted, the Steelers had quite a lot of turnover this past offseason that there are a number of new rookies that will be making the final 53-man roster. But once I get to the point where my roster during the franchise matches up with the real life roster, it becomes decidedly less interesting to draft new players, knowing I won't have spots open on the roster for them unless I cut an established player. So yeah, my logic is strange, but sound.
