The Washington Nationals

This thread is designed to be similar to the Astros thread on this board. I know a lot of people are playing with the Nationals this year (which is cool to see, because lord knows nobody has wanted to play with us in the past)

However I figured this would be a good place for people to discuss what works (or doesn't work) for you when you're the Nationals?

What are some lineup tips? I for one can not find a leadoff hitter. Desmond just is absolutely killing me in the one hole, and I can't hit worth a damn with LaRoche.

Anyways hope this thread takes off. I figured if the Astros can have one, so can the Nationals.

Re: The Washington Nationals

I'm probably will try starting one with them. Their unis are nice, parks nice, got good major league talent, good prospects, so they pretty much got it all.

One thing I'd ask you is when did you bring up Harper? Out of ST? Couple Weeks? Later?

Looking at there lineup is they don't got any good true lead off guys. (Guys that have high discipline) Werth seems like he could do it, but his speed isn't blazing.

There rotation is awesome as well. Stras is filthy and Jackson has done good with me in the past.

Hope you do well with them.

Re: The Washington Nationals

I'm doing a multi-team one with the Expo...I mean Nationals and the Royals and I'm in love with playing the Bats (sheesss don't tell my Mets they might try and divorce me). I agree I can't hit worth **** with Desmond and I've been moving the one spot all around between just about everyone and nobody on the team wants to bat lead off. I'm a week into may and Espinoza and Zimmy lead the NL in jacks, while DeRosa is leading the team in ave. Taken over for Des but still not liking leadoff. The team era right now is the best in the bigs at a world stopping 2.22.

Re: The Washington Nationals

I lead Espinoza off. Harper made the team out of Spring Training and bats #2 for me. Zimmerman Third. Then Morse. Laroche/Werth 5th, depending on the pitcher. The other of them 6th. Ramos. Desmond. Pitcher spot.

Re: The Washington Nationals

I use Werth leading off because i want my best players to get the most AB's. Werth in the 6th hole just doesn't seem right to me

Re: The Washington Nationals

Werth is essentially a right handed version of Laroche. Easily top 5 overpaid and overrated players in the game. His contract is in the Soriano catagory.

Re: The Washington Nationals

Harper does better with the latest roster and change to his hot/cold zones, and I think his contact vs righties was boosted.
