NBA 2K11 was better?

Have we come to the conclusion that NBA 2K11 was better than 12? I have been dying to play some 2K I never made the move on 12 and when I read about the double team issue I really lost interest. Has this issue been fixed? Is it as bad as it sounds on these threads? I am just trying to debate whether or not to go through and update rosters on 11 or purchase 12 any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Unfortunately the computer still lacks the ability to double team when appropriate. The gameplay is usually pretty smooth and there are certainly some beautiful moments regarding the animations but it's not always consistent. One game it'll make you drool and the next you'll have a rage stroke. It's certainly something that you need to get your hands on to formulate your own opinion on because there's so much going on that it's difficult to surmise with a single post.

Personally I like 2K11 better. It has just as much cheese but 2K12 is the most frustrating game I have ever played. The only thing I like about 2K12 is the fluidity of the animations and the post controls. It is very bugged and annoying things like dribbling off your own teammate or having a blocking foul called on you for forcing a backcourt violation grinds my gears. With association or regular games sometimes the game plays very smoothly and sometimes it's an absolute disaster. To me My Player is the most unplayable. I recommend you either try the game out first or try and find it for a good deal because it is definitely not worth $60. If you mostly play with Legends then go ahead and buy the game. I know a lot of people may disagree with me but whatever, I'm just being completely honest. I can't play the game without wanting to smash my controller.

Thanks for the opinions guys. This really surprises me out of 2k this year as they usually go no where but forward. I guess I really wish they didnt stop the roster updates for 2k11 and it would be a no brainer. I have thought aabout just not exploiting a matchup to avoid that no double team but shoot thats what the NBA is all about. Hmmmm still dont know but appreciate the thoughts fellas

Besides the double teams, 2k12 is better than 2k11 imo. Out of the box 2k11 is the better game. But with the ratings, tendencies and slider adjusted(Get a roster and slider from 2k share basically). This game is very realistic. This game is sooo much deeper than 2k11, I mean isomotion, the post game, on-ball defense,the play-calling system,shot blocking and rebounding. Both games have their own issues. But they still have similar issues like psychic defense, passing, sliding and teammates A.i. If you want a easier game I would stick with 2k11, easier as in scoring, defending and just an easier cpu. 2k12 is a hard game, it's harder to drive, score and defend. But once you learn how to truly play this game it's very entertaining. But you will have to spend a lot of time in practice mode before jumping into high difficulty games(superstar and hall of fame) agansit the cpu.

Now why the community doesn't like 2k12 idk. 2k12 has it's issues but so did 2k11, I didn't like 2k12 after the second month and thought I knew how to play. Once I downloaded the sim world roster and sliders. The game played great. But when I learned how to drive and defend the game became less frustrating and I enjoyed myself.

My thinking is because 2k doesn't really hold your hand in 2k12 and expects you to figure certain things out, I think that may be a reason. But one thing I learned about this forum everyone here isn't a sim-head or that good at the game. So I wouldn't take some of these posts too seriously.

I get frustrated with the rosters they release. One roster the game plays great, the next update an it plays like crap. But I like that they add different animations with their updates, so I'm forced to play with them.

See now this post makes me want to grab 12! I remember having trouble dialing in with sliders between all star and superstar on 11 as well how does the difficulty on 12 compare to on 11 where once you got above all star you would basically see the CPU cheated you.

2k12 isn't worth buying especially at this point. You're better off just waiting 3 1/2 months and buying 2k13 which will be much better than 2k12 which was rushed to market and never finished properly. No rosters or sliders are gonna fix all the issues with the gameplay. Do yourself a favor and just wait for 2k13.
