MUST the coaches/players retire in CC?

hi,

As far as I know, and according to my own research on the internet, it seems that every time you switch from a player to coach or coach to player the player/coach you are leaving behind will retire?

Is that true? If so they need to change that...

I don't want to be excited, play my newly drafted star RB player and be forced to lock in on his career for 10 seasons only because he will retire if I change back to coach after 2 years.

Created players/coaches are forced to retire if you opt to change whereas real players do not, sadly there is no option for your created player to become CPU controlled as this would be a useful tool 4 roster editing.

in previous madden games if you created a new file too and a completely new franchise. In CC If I do the equivelent of creating a new franchise does it make a completely new one or just a different player/coach in the same file. If you know what i mean....

So only created players and coaches will retire? Let's say I play as Alex Smith in season one, and I want to take over Harbaugh as a coach in season 2...will Alex Smith retire or not?
