What is your play style?

Jw how each person likes to play the game. What offense do you run? Do you like airing it out or pounding the rock? What do you do on defense, lots of blitzing, zone, man coverage, etc?

I usually like to run a pro style west coast offense. When I pass I prefer short, quick passes, often to my TE. I LOVE running the ball. I like to recruit big brusing Rbs and just pound the ball up the middle. I dont really rely on a workhorse though and I split the carries between 3 or 4 guys. On 3rd and really longs I often just do an HB draw or screen. I am not a huge audible, hot route, or motion guy, but I do use them when appropriate. Although I use motion to get more blockers to one side of the field instead of seeing if they are in man or zone. I play safe and dont give the ball away often. I take what the defense gives me and when nothing is there I throw tha ball away rather than forcing a bad throw.

On defense I dont really have a prefence between 4-3 or 3-4. I love getting preasure and blitz alot. Sometimes this hurts me, but I deal with it. On 3rd and longs I like to blitz heavy rather then play prevent. So I am aggressive there, but at the same time I do not really go for strips or hard hits, I just want to go for the safe tackle.

On 4th down I almost always kick the ball, but sometimes I cant help myself and I go for the really easy 4th and 1's. I am like a 95% FG kicker so when I get past the 40 I often get at least 3 points. I am also opessed with trying to pin my opponent at their goal line and will punt rather then go for it when I have a FG kicker with low power.

So I am pretty conservative on offense and aggressive on defense. What about you guys?

Pro Raid

Little bit of Ace & I-Form, i like having good TE's & FB's but at the same time having a lot of Air Raid stuff in my playbook. 2x2 3x1 lots of Stick plays out of different formations, WR Mid-Screens and Draws to keep the D honest. I would say the inspiration for my offense are David Shaw, Mike Leach & Steve Spurrier.

On Defense my bread and butter is the 4-3 with a heavy dose of Cover 3 & Cover 1 Robber. Strategic blitzing to keep the O off balanced and to kill the QB. I like the Cover 3 & Cover 1 because people have a hard time telling them apart pre-snap which i like, mix that in with some heavy blitz's and you should have the opponents passing game off balance while still having 8 men in the box against the run. I do plan to get more familiar with the 3-4 and 3-3-5 Stack but always put it off. My high school team played a 4-3 Cover 1 Base D back in the day, i was the starting MLB so i am fond of that defense and always control the MLB. Nick Saban does a lot of Cover 1 stuff out of the 3-4, fun to watch. It's important in the Defense i run that my SS is good against the run but also good in man to man coverage. FS has to be smart and be able to cover a lot of ground since half the time he will be the lone safety back in midfield.

Re: What is your play style?

My offense is built around power running. I love to pound the ball 30-40 times per game, get the defense tired, and run down the clock. My roster needs at least two RBs who are big and powerful. Too bad the game is broken in that regard - I'm kind of annoyed that the best recruits for my system end up being 185 lb. "power" backs and that they routinely get stopped in their tracks by 165 lb. CBs' arm tackles.

My defense is built to be aggressive but not reckless, and built more for speed using the 3-3-5. I absolutely love hard-hitting safeties. My best player was a 240 lb. ATH who I moved to FS and had something like 91 Hit Power in his Senior year.

Re: What is your play style?

My play style has changed pretty dramatically over the years. WHen I was a little younger I used to go deep with passes, run the ball with a speedy rb, scramble with my qb alot. Defence was pretty much always Nickel and blitz with both lb.'s just about every play.

Now days I stay a little more true to real life Iowa Hawkeye style of play. Conservative, short yardage plays. Straight forward running. 4-3 defense and pretty much never blitz. Average around 200-250 yrds passing and around 200 rushing with amongst a few backs.

I pretty much never audible or use motion. At most I flip the run play at the line....and Ive never remembered what button throws the ball away so I end up either taking the sack, forcing the throw, or running.

This year I plan to combine these styles, and some what get back to my roots of speed, big plays, and aggressive D but still maintain a certain conservativeness.

Re: What is your play style?

On defense I run the four man front all day erry day. I may actually experiment a little with the 3-4 this year just because I've never done it. I also mostly stick to zone coverage with a fairly conservative blitz package.

On offense I have a couple different styles depending on the team. If I'm a running team my play book is mosty I-form and strong-I with a lot of running off tackle along with a lot of short passes to TEs. Usually I stick with teams with quick QBs though, and run more Ace formations with 2-3 WRs and Shotgun formations that spread out the field. I like to call plays that leave the middle of the field open so that the QB can pull it down and zip through the line for a good chunk of yards when the blocking sets up. I also like the Ace Bunch formation; lots of good passing plays out of that. Ace Spread is another good one with good passing and some good running plays as well, especially HB cutback. I still stick to medium length passes other than when the D starts playing close zones and I just send everyone deep for a play.

Re: What is your play style?

250 yards passing + 250 yards rushing, 56-0 final score, 3:1 TOP advantage. Always my goal.

On offense I run what I call a "smash spread": spread elements but I recruit for strength and size instead of speed. Old school attitude with modern X's & O's.

Defensively I run mostly 4-3 but don't shy from unconventional stuff like 4-2-5 & 1-5-5 to keep it spicy.

Re: What is your play style?

I pound the ball all day on offense, 40-45+ times a game with multiple backs over 100+ yards or close to it. I prefer to run the ball using a power back with a speed back as my number 2. I utilize HB Spell to alternate backs depending on play call of outside/option and inside running plays. Flexbone, wishbone, power I, I form tight, I form tackle over and goal line are my staple formations. Its not uncommon for my QB to not throw the ball 50 times over the course of a dynasty season. I've also been known to turn on chew clock from snap number one, especially when playing teams better than I.

Sometimes, however, I will do the complete opposite if I don't have the personnel to run the ball. This normally happens the first year with a new team. If I'm forced to throw, I use more of a west coast and option spread mix.

On defense I key on speed with no real emphasis on a particular playbook. I want my players quick to the ball and bringing friends. Play call and formation I use depend on what the offense does.

Re: What is your play style?

I love recruiting big bruisers at HB. I'm going to beat a dead horse:

This is why I'm so disappointed in the physics system not being in this year's NCAA. I would love to have a 6-3, 240 Ron Dayne type HB plow over a 5-10, 175 corner.
