NBA 2K12 keeps crashing! Please help!

Can anyone please help me? I'm playing 2K12 on PC and my game is having an issue.

I have created a team of all new created players, and put them on a team i created. I then replaced an NBA team with my created team and having been playing with them through a season in Association. I finally came to the end of the season with no problems, but when I simulate through to the playoffs, the game gives me the message that my team has won several reward points for accomplishments, and then after I dismiss this message, the game crashes.

There is no error message, the game just closes instantly. I'm not sure, but I think that the game is going into the screen where it displays the awards for the end of the season (mvp etc.) for which players on my team were candidates. Does anyone know what could be causing this as I'd hate to lose my season.

I have already tried disabling auto saves and this did not help. Any other suggestions?
