How did this happen?!

Last night, I was a playing my Reds franchise. The game went into extra innings, and the opposing team was running low on pitching. Because of this, they allowed their relief pitcher to hit in the top of the 16th inning. Anyways, there was a guy on third, and Jared Burton, a relief pitcher, comes up to bat. 2 outs in the inning. I get ahead 1-2, and I'm making great pitches throughout the at bat. HOWEVER, Burton continued to foul off every pitch like it was nothing, and stayed alive, like he was the leadoff hitter. I get to about the 8th pitch, and throw a perfectly placed fastball down and in, right on the corner. WHAT DO YOU KNOW? Burton singles up the middle and the runs scores! I LOSE!
This has got to be fixed. There's no way a RELIEF PITCHER is gonna be able to foul off that many pitches and single up the middle on a perfectly placed fastball. This needs to be changed for next year.

The beauty of baseball is seeing things that A) have never happened or B) happen very rarely. It is really the one sport where you can go to and possibly see something that has never happened or hasn't happened in a very long time.
