NASCAR 06, 07, or 09?

I own a Xbox 360 and am looking for a good NASCAR game under $15 (hence why no 2k3). So between original XBox 06 (total team control), 07 or 360's 09 whIch should I get? I would like the game to have solid gameplay similar to the traffic-jam style of racing that is NASCAR, good atmosphere, and a decent career mode. I am not as interested in having all licensed drivers or the other series (truck series, etc)

Given that you are considering last-gen titles, do you happen to have a PS2? If so, I would encourage you to consider Dirt to Daytona. By far the best and most well-rounded title on the last-gen consoles, both on and off the track. Racing and AI are good. And while the other series are on there, you're not forced to play them.

The 360's 09 is decent, but the one game-breaker for me on that title was a bug where no matter your driving style or setup, you would always have to pit 5-10 laps sooner than the rest of the field in races of any considerable length.

I believe 06 and 07 on the original xbox were decent, but if you go last-gen console, Dirt to Daytona is your best bet.

09 is amazing. I still play heavily in career mode to this day. After 2 full seasons in Nationwide, I finally got a contract offer in Sprint, and I'm relieved to say that I'm gladly going to accept.

Yeah I bought my 9 year old a PS2 and Dirt To Daytona and I'm playing it more than him. I really liked NASCAR 2005 Chase For The Cup and 2006 Total Team Control and am considering getting them again. But the funny thing about our memories is we tend to remember the good stuff about things while forgetting the bad and both 05 and 06 had to have plenty of bad for me to not keep them very long.

06: Total Team Control.

I still play that to this day, throwing it in the 360 every now and again to play a little bit of career mode. I believe it's the best NASCAR game for the console. The ability to play in the Whelen series and work your way up is was keeps me going back.

06' is easily the best of those you have listed. Definitely worth the money, even still to this date.

I'd go with 06 or 07. I loved both, I think they are essentially the same game, but I think 06 had more real drivers in the Truck, Busch, and Cup series.
