Choppy animation with high player models?

I really enjoy NBA 2k12 on the PC but one thing is bugging me. I can set everything to high, even 8x MSAA and have the smoothest game in the world IF player models are set to low. However, low player models look terrible. When I set player models to high, the animations get really choppy.

Now, it's not low FPS. I get a steady 50 FPS in the benchmark and this continues in game (checked with FRAPS). But the animation of all the players is choppy and stuttery. The crowd animates fine and there are no complete stutters, it's just the player animations. Of course this is really annoying.

Is there a fix for this? Like I said, it's definitely not an FPS issue.

wow i've never heard of that before.. so all animation is choppy? even walking?

i think it might be your jersey files. did you download jersey shadow mod or something? because one of the differences between high and low player models is the jersey animation..

I think I did download a rookie arm fix. I dunno how to really describe it best, it's not really all that choppy it's just that on low, the animations are smooth as silk but on high it's kinda jittery and just not smooth. But for example, the crowd animations are fine, panning around is fine, no complete stutters in gameplay, even the model animations during the game intro are fine (where they show the starting lineup and their stats).

I might just reinstall but is there a way to backup an association? I just did an awesome fantasy draft that I'd like to keep.

EDIT: I just deleted everything (even the Appdata stuff) and did a reinstall, smooth now. Must have been something I downloaded and installed. Think I'll stick with default everything for now.

WOW, I just figured it out! It wasn't anything I downloaded. It was vsync... By default it's on and I saw no issues, I turned it off and it popped up again. Turning it on also makes my FPS drop to 38 for some reason... I can deal with that though if the animations are smooth.
