Can't trade in association mode with a created team

For some reason I can't make any trades in association mode with a created team. After the other team accepts the trade, it just goes back to the trade screen, with all the players still on their original team. Is there any way to fix this?

The same restriction is on classic teams as well.

What I used to get classic teams to work is a method in one of the stickies above (the one about using classic players in association). Essentially, it is to create your team, build the roster, save the roster file, and with that roster file loaded start a game in season mode and export the team from there. With that exported created team loaded, start an association and replace whatever team you wanted with the created team.
