Madden 13 - Want Ability For Situational Down Substitutions

I don't think this option was available in Madden 12 or I just couldn't find it. I know there was the option to sub in different players for different formations and so forth, but how neat would it be if you could designate certain subs for certain situations.

For example, I'll most likely be using the Titans in franchise mode for 2013. For situations of 3 & long, most likely passing situations, I could have it designated so Karl Klug, their pass rushing specialists (7 sacks as rookie at DT) come in for that down. On the other hand, I can make sure Mike Martin, DT, comes in on 3 & short downs. The same can go for 3rd down RB's, DE specialists, etc. this list can go on.

I know you can adjust sub sliders for more or less substitutions per position, but I'd like to see an option for specific situation subs introduced.

What is every ones thoughts, other ideas, options to expand on this?

Would be nice if EA put formation subs back Madden. I wouldn't even care if they call it a new feature.

The way Madden 12 sub packages are set up now is ok if the user has the depth chart set up right and knows their playbook really well.
Adding the option of formation subs should include the ability for the user to set up there own sub packages and special teams in the coaching scheme menu.
Added to 32 team control this would be awesome, I would love to be able to make make sure cpu teams have there situational studs in when they should.

this is a great idea and i absolutely want this back int he game as well.

i would love to setup my 3-4 solid formation to specifically be setup to stop the run. It would be my best run stoppers up and down the roster at every position.

the same would go for blitzing packages. this would be great.

Glad you like my idea! Now lets hope EA takes notice.

This would really add an element of realism to the game and show for more depth and more varied stats among your players. You should be able to set it up for say 3 and 8+ yards to automatically sub in your pass rushing specialists, or for offense say your pass receiving TEs.

This can also be the same for LBs, take for example the Steelers and their draft pick Sean Spence. For short down n distances keep slow Foote in, for passing downs sub in speedy Spence.

This was one of the things I loved about the last gen Madden's. Formation subs. You could still do it in Madden last year but you had to do it all in game which for me made it completely worthless. Not only that but I could never figure out how to reset it so if you made a decision it would be stuck. I wish you could make the changes just at the main menu in franchise especially considering how much they put emphasis on roster cuts and what not.

Even just something like the custom packages they had in the ps2 days would be a big help, so many times I've had an idea for a personnel group from a formation but haven't been able to do it.
