Transfer my player from 2k12 to 2k13

I would like to have an option from creating a new player or to continue with your player from 2k12. Post your opinion.

Re: Transfer my player from 2k12 to 2k13

I personally am against the idea, in all honesty. I feel like the purpose of MP is to build your player. I like starting out as a 60 OVR and having to work my way up the rotation. I feel like it's too unrealistic to just dominate the games as an 80 OVR, getting 50+ pts. But that's just me.

Maybe if they dropped your player's OVR to like.. a 70 I'd think it'd be oookaaaay, but I feel like if I just wanted to use a 80+ OVR guy from day one, I'd just use a CAP in CAL.

If they could start you off in the season you left off in the previous game it would be cool. The only problem would be the rosters.

Why wouldn't it work? All they would have to do is make the 2k12 save files compatible with 2k13, much like RB2 music files are compatible with RB3.

It doesn't make much sense because the whole point of a new game is to have updated rosters and new options, but I don't see the difficulty in programing something that would generate the rosters from a saved MP game into an updated game, sans any players that leave the NBPA between now and the next game.

Thus Wouk only be a good idea if 2k12 was a good game . But not being the case . I'm going with start fresh .

I don't see why rosters would matter. Just start the new game with your my pplayer as a free agent .

Rosters don't matter at all. If you weren't connected to the Internet at the time that you started the my player profile then the rosters weren't updated to begin with. So, it doesn't matter at all what the rosters are, all that matters is that you might really like your last player that you made. I know from experience that itd be awesome to play as the same person that you dominated with last season. Almost to keep his career going. I mean Kobe had played 16 seasons about to start his 17th I'd like to play as on person for more than 2 seasons tops(if you play 82 game seasons at 12 minutes a quarter at least) I don't know maybe I just really get into the my player feature of the game.

This is actually one of my main beefs with MP. As I mentioned in the MP thread, it is unrealistic for your MP to always start with such a limited skill set. The incorporation of Summer League into the game would go a long way to help with this, since it will give you a chance to earn skill points and increase your ratings before the season starts.

As far as working your way up the rotation, that's only realistic when you are in the same position as a proven player. If you go to a team where you fill an important need, what's the point in trying to prove you are better than someone that's only in the starting lineup because he's all they got?

I think realism in MP will continue to be limited until 2K finally creates a college hoops game with a MP mode that fully integrates into the NBA2K MP mode.

In response to the OP, I agree that your MP should be able to transfer to NBA2k13. The idea of "starting over" with each new game might appeal to some, but I don't understand why those of us that would like to carry over our MP don't even have the option of doing so.

As far as rosters, the only adjustments that need to be made are for the team you play on, so that you keep your role/status on that team.
